Good point. It's more reflective of the zeitgeist, which is where the danger resides.

Not only is it about how the audience reacts, but also what they are reacting to.

This entire week the message has been one of hatred against perceived enemies (Hillary, Muslims, illegal immigrants) and how each group is a threat to what they believe to be the American way of life. Speech after speech appealed to deep-rooted ultra-nationalism and invoked the name of god. These people believe not only that they are true patriots and all others are enemies, but that their supremacy is divinely inspired.

The Nazi salute aside, we can make a comparison to the people of Nazi Germany with those aspects I just described. The Nazi party demonized their enemies (Jews, gays, socialists/communists) with propaganda seeping with ultra-nationalism, while invoking the name of god to give the appearance of divine inspiration.

So I would not say that Trump himself is dangerous, but I would say that his message and the message of the people that support him are, because it creates an atmosphere and mindset that could lead to bloodshed and persecution.

We walk a very fine line right now. I hope we are wise enough to learn from history and do not let fascism overtake the people through propaganda.

Is he obsessed with China? He's talking about them again this morning. I think they must have pissed him off in the past on some trade negotiation and he wants revenge.

China may be the only issue Trump is actually obsessed with. All his other positions have changed wildly over the last 16 years.

It's no secret that we have been screwed over by our "leaders" when it comes to foreign countries being able to use slave labor so the products they manufacture can be cheap, and imported with little to zero tax/tariff on them. (looking at you China and all apple iproducts)

What we need is to tax the heck out of companies who import anything, and bring jobs and manufacturing back to our own country. Communist China can go rot. There was a time when "Made in the U.S.A." actually meant something.
