Again, no one is mocking biblical stories, just the people who bend reality insisting they're all meant to be taken literal.

imagine a historical institute dedicated to the documentation and display of santa claus artifacts, complete with diagram of how he travels the entire world in a single night and the latest research on his hidden base in the north pole.

clearly the global flood and noahs ark and "a pair of every animal" didnt happen. this was bill nyes assessment, and lets be honest, we werent really waiting for his verdict anyway. its just nice to know that he agrees.

Wow children of all ages, Bill Nye is teaching you something, lets all hold hands, close our eyes and listen to the old man teach us religion of evolution
We should call him father and confess we were once stupid and didnt believe him, now we all do.

You don't consider yourself a fundamentalist?

And no I don't consider you a jew, you said you take what the Bible says as literal so I asked about the OT. Do you ignore all of the OT then?

I just want to point out that while it is great to see the efforts of a fundamentalist, science bashing, propagandist like this Ark guy get debunked by a psuedopopular tv star, it should be noted that Bill Nye is not a scientist.

He became known in the TV industry after winning a Steve Martin look alike contest in the 80s, which eventually led to his most commonly known role as Bill Nye the The Science Guy.

No one is claiming he is, he can still say what he says without being a scientist.

I wasn't saying you were either...

I watched this freak show at a fundamentalist church...

They applauded his nonsense, even though half had no clue what either person was saying...

I've watched many many religious debates, i rather enjoy them... but the entire sham was a set up...

1 min for rebuttal?

Surrounded by like minded Ham's... And Bill still made a fool of him in a very respectable way...

At the end, the people in the church were completely silent, almost as if even they knew it was a pathetic display of nonsense....

Seriously... its an hour or so, but watch it IF you have time...

I stand by my claim..... Ken Ham is an Asshat with a drum

Oh come on sermon80
I take it literally, historically though I am not a Jew bound by Torah law, is that ok by you

Do YOU understand the difference between Jew and christian???

Yes I am a fundamentalist, just not a pushy I am right and everyone is wrong fundamentalist like the atheist, agnostic, evolutionist around here who chirp their hate at every one who disagrees with them
I am of the opinion they are welcome to their opinion

There is a difference, big difference

An asshat hey Ak, you know that name calling kinda makes you look a little like an asshat yourself, great kind loving person reduced to calling others names to make yourself out as better, and definetly not a great kind loving person.

Evolution a religion? I demand tax exemption for my religion! LOL!

The earth is 6,000 years old, there was a global flood and evolution didn't happen. In order to swallow this nonsense you have to throw away 200 years of science in practically all of it's disciplines from biology, physics, geology, palaeontology, astronomy and even the religion of mathematics!
You were making the mistake of ridiculing the science that conflicts with your feelings of being magically special and now we have the science that shows that your religious beliefs that make you special..are wrong.
It's a perfectly natural feeling and process, I hope one day you can grow out of it.

I live basically equidistant from the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter (about 20 min, give or take)--I refuse to go to either of them, as I can not, in any way, endorse with my wallet what they are pushing in either of those places.

When my wife was a regular churchgoer, I would sometimes go with her, if for no other reason than to help watch my son so that she could pay attention (I'm an atheist and could care less about what they were preaching). Her church had some guy from Answers In Genesis come one evening and give a presentation on creationism--I went, with pad and paper in hand, and took notes on all of the claims so that afterward I could go home and explain to her everything that was a flat-out lie concerning that line of thinking.

There was so much wrong that I couldn't even keep up with the note-taking, and I only had to show her a handful of things before she realized that creationism couldn't be accurate.

It was worth the note-taking.

Jurassic Park on an ark (catchy, yeah?) is not quite like Oreos and milk. I do not think they go together.

I'd not be inclined to spend forty bucks on it, either. Jurassic Park, on the other hand .... nope, I've seen the movies .... it would be really tempting though. You have to think temptation would be the only reason those fictional people continue to visit the parks, I mean, did they not hear about all the other incidents? Geez. Getting off topic, but I did manage to slide temptation into a thread regarding creationism, so I think I'm good. Or not. I just really wanted to get my catchy phrase out there.
