Once again, we have initial reports of multiple gunmen. (And those reports continued for many hours, supported by comments by police officials.) Only to be fed the same "lone nut" explanation we've heard countless times before.

I don't think I need to explain the value of the "lone nut" story. This is something most ATS members understand.

It will be interesting to see the timeline of the OS that allows a single gun man on the ground to convince multiple witnesses and police officials that he was both on the ground and firing from elevated positions.

I know. I hate it when less than 24 hours after an event they don't have all the facts for our consumption and the investigation complete and published in a PDF for us.

Well if you would care to read and drop the arrogance the source is the authorities. Either they do think he was alone or they don't?

And if you'd care to read and drop the ignorance, youd notice the investigation is continuing, as are interviews of those arrested. One is saying he was a shooter, which has to be investigated.

Someone posted a link to this video earlier and while it's EXTREMELY hard to see the shooter, as he seems to blend into the concrete.. I have not seen anyone talk much about another person just walking down the street as it happens.. It's really hard for me to get a screenshot on my phone but here is the link ..Whoever it is enters from right at about 7 seconds..

He could of just had a crowd of cops to surprise fire on from the beginning, to rack of some half the casualties, then took the rest down as they approached him. I doubt the police all had him matched in firepower initially. He had 2 rifles to load & lock on with. Then he had to dig in at some point. Maybe got some others in the process. Police in uniform tend to stand out from most regular folks.

He still wouldve had to move from the parking garage (sniper-like position) to ground level. This must be because the police taking fire reported as such (gunfire from an elevated position - hence "sniper")

Im just having trouble wrapping my head around the reason he would come to ground level because he obviously wanted to stay alive as long as possible because he didnt go the cop-assisted suicide route...he wouldnt give in, so he gave up his confirmed position for a closeup gunfight?!!?? The cop he killed near the columns was at pointblank range.

Idk, its just my opinion, but its very hard to wrap my mind around (& to trust officials - they tend to spin things).

Then again Im also trying to rationalize and irrational person, so theres that.

It isn't hard to foresee a very long hot summer in the USA and I, for one, would hope that something can be done to pour water on the fire that seems to be building in your country.

The question isn't about random attacks with small armed groups, it is about full scale civil unrest WITH these attacks becoming much more common as well, almost a perfect storm.

If I were a religious man I would pray for you guys. I am not, but I hope you sort this out soon.

i said it last night he/ they had stuff stashed all over.

First time I took fire it was confusing and very frightening. It wasn't even sniper fire either.

You learn to get use to it and get a handle on the situation, but the first moments and sometimes the first hours of a situation like this can bring about all kinds of different information that proves to be false later on.

The police coming out and saying he acted alone while they are saying they have several suspects seems a bit strange so what is the latest?

Big march in Atlanta tonight the fact they found a hung black man this morning in Piedmont park isnt going to help.If were are expecting a series of these events Id put my money on Martin Luther King Drive as a possible crime scene.

That would be odd, provided the protest was only planned 24 hrs or so before it began.

That doesnt leave much time or cover to plant weapons (unless you have help!)

Interesting in the sense that he was stashing weapons at various vantage points rather than carry them from place to place..plus came down to ground floor to exit.

Is it possible he was initially hoping to escape and blend into the crowd?

Extremism is guaranteed though isn't it? I get the ISIS face palm, but don't smack yourself in the face on my behalf if extremism is the result, 'cos it seems to be the case.

They could also be finding weapons that shooters have fired off a few rounds walked away from and left in make shift hides to make an escape.

There were reports that the organiser was promoting "open carry" for the march. Not sure if that has been proven, his son was the POI during the madness, right? One of the few who open carried? Open carry would help blending, but who knows what narrative is being spun, or not?
