Silly. That mission was accomplished when the towers were taken down and the whole country went nuts. Most of the leaders jumped on the band wagon and Homeland Security took charge. The entire format of American life was altered, not by the terrorists, not by the citizens but by our leaders in congress and the white house.

Fear fear fear was blasted from our screens day and night over and over. The mission has been accomplished for almost 15 years now. My caution is not fear, just reasonable caution.

Sound like much more then some average fireworks if his legs a very damaged.

Guess more will be available with more investigation. Somebody is going to be some serious trouble due to the times we are in.

Agreed.
And most fireworks are not pressure sensitive to the point that a person stepping on them will set them off.

The question is, did these 3 18 year old boys bring this homemade explosive to the park themselves or did something much worse happen. I have never been to central park, i dont know where this rock they jumped off is, but i just cant understand why someone would leave a explosive device there and not somewhere more traditional (crowded places)

If it was the boys own device I can understand why they would want to lie, making bombs, bringing bombs to new york, bring bombs to a public park and then blowing your friends foot off......

Please. I'm sure the NYPD would love to run with that narrative and they would have already if there was any shred of evidence.

Hm. Not convinced it was malicious judging by their statements. I wonder if it was a homemade noise-maker firework of the trio's own making that literally blew up on them there. What if the improv design was meant to launch it after stomping something, and some resulting pressure change detonated it X number of seconds later? It wouldn't be the first time someone tried to come up with something dumber & more dangerous than already exists for a celebratory "toy".
