So the truth comes out. Your family wants to put her in a care facility and you are suing them.

That makes more sense.

As far as being 14, imagine those of us who were baptized as infants and are told we will burn in hell for leaving the church. At least you had a choice.

You do realize a custody battle is a law suit right? Hello, is anyone home?

From how awful you sounded about the situation maybe a care facility is the best option? As dementia worsens sometimes a full time care facility is all that can help.

Removed the stories - the true stories - that I briefly posted ----- families everywhere are complicated puzzles and messes....there is no "Cleaver" family - every single unit has its warps and wefts and trauma and response. You have to realize that.

And apparently, you don't.
I have stories of families so crippled by the kind of loss that misskat is describing that they have equivalent sad consequences to deal with.

On a scale of sensitivity and depth, you are ranking at about ----- oh, I dunno ------- 0.9 on a scale of 10.0......

Seems to be! Just sayin'. Own it or abandon it.......or...if you're too scared of shunning, well - I understand.
You're a tough nut to crack, angeldoll - as in, you don't want to engage but then you engage....I know how it is. I get that way, too.

It's okay - we can spar maybe -- we've done that before....sometimes you even agree with me.

Hope that's helpy.

By the way, I was pressured into getting Baptized at 14 yrs old. A mistake I made at 14 cost me my family forever. Justify and Defend that.

Anyone who knows JW's knows they don't pressure baptism, they interview and make sure the person is ready to take that responsibility. You would have to misrepresent your own feeling to have been baptised by them

You are slandering a whole organization who as far as I can see tries very hard to reach people regardless of the personal cost.
I know I would never care enough to face dogs and gun toting fanatics at their doors to bring them the message.

In the end we all will pay for what we do, what we don't do and what we say or not say.

I was pressured into baptism 44 yrs ago, I was pressured into marriage at 16. When Armageddon didnt happen in 1975 as they predicted they "received new light" and new information was released. Before 1975 teens were married off as young as 14. They were pressured into marriage. I know, I was there, I lived it. Im not lying. Listen to what x-jws are telling you. This is a religion that destroys families. And yes you are encouraged to divorce your husband if he doesnt convert. If you say otherwise, you either really dont know the truth, or you are lying to cover for them. They destroy families.

There was no counseling session to make sure a person was ready for baptism. How can anyone reasonably give their undying allegiance and enter a contract of ownership to a church at 14? I had spent my whole life brainwashed and groomed by them to make that oath. I hadnt even been allowed to read fairy tales how could I possibly know what I wanted to believe for the rest of my life at 14? What is wrong with you people?

You can say all you want as a side line bystander of the Kingdom people. But I was there. I lived it. I know what I am talking about. You only think you do because you know some JWs. Why dont you ask what I saw in NY that made me write a letter of resignation? Dont you think it was pretty serious to cause me to walk away from everything I had lived for? I was a regular pioneer, my great great grandfather was a JW, I was a pharisees of pharisees. I have family at Bethel. You dont get it. I walked away with nothing, because I could not live a lie. I saw the corruption and deception, I saw the lie that had consumed and controlled and destroyed my family. I knew this could not be an organization that a loving God had created. If you can ever move past the fear, guilt and shame of leaving the "truth", start by taking a real good look at their history.

I was also pressured into leaving school. It was considered materialistic to pursue any education. So, I was pressured into quitting High school and becoming a full time pioneer.

Only if you file a law suit. There is no legal battle going on right now, I am trying to work it out with social workers. However, I am prepared to file suit if necessary. So, your jumping to conclusions again.

So you twisted the truth earlier when you said you were in a custody battle? I wonder where I drew my conclusion from. Silly me for reading what you wrote.

I also know a good chunk of your above post to char is a lie. One of my employees who is a JW has a Catholic husband and they have been married for 17 years (They work in the same location, different departments). I asked her how her church felt about that and she said they are very supportive. So what you are saying doesn't jive with reality.

I will also add that both of my JW employees have at least associates degrees. I did search their site and it does appear they warn away from higher education, but I find nothing that indicates they ask their members to drop out of high school? I feel like you are flat out making things up.

I dont believe it sounds like a Frame up ,i knew alot of witnesses years ago and they would not do anything like that and if they did would get into big trouble for it ,not that i believe it would happen to begin with ,they are obligated to respect other peoples beliefs and property etc

Whatever, choose to believe what you want to believe. I dont need to make it up. Im not sure how you think I twisted the truth about a custody battle. But, you dont seem to understand anything I have written, and you only have an agenda to defend these people. I dont really care.

I can see from your personal ATS stats that your overall contribution to thread content is not very impressive. Other members must feel the same as I do that you mostly spout irrelevant #, twist peoples words, and just be a jerk. Oh my bad, Ill probably lose a lighten bolt. lol

My Family is not destroyed and I am not a Witness. My family had children in the 70's they were not pressured to do anything but be good decent children, every single thing you have said is opposite of the truth. Maybe you were raised in some messed up situation, my brother was a Mormon and he certainly did not abide by Mormon teaching his Family was abused but the Mormons did kick him out just as Witnesses would have.

I see from reading your threads you have had a lot of troubles, with religion, aliens, drugs in the family etc.

I think you are searching and that is not a bad thing, but blame never gets a person where they want to go. Taking credit for the things you have done in your life and not blaming will help you a ton. If you had a bad childhood, like many of us, it is not because you had no Christmas and not because of Jehovah's Witnesses.

See as it turns out, people can't even discuss the JW's without it resorting to ad hominems and flaming.

I guess these guys didn't get the "no violence" message from central command...

Jehovah's Witnesses caught by police after killing spree in Russia

Two Jehovah's Witnesses have been accused of murdering 13 people on a mad "mission from God".

Vladimir Gurianov, 44, and Elvira Egorycheva 46, are said to have hacked, bludgeoned and shot their innocent victims in a nine-month killing spree.

They also robbed their victims on "God's orders". Gurianov told detectives after his arrest: "God told us to go and take the money. He said, 'Go there and take as much as you need'. So we did."

Police say the killings began after Egorycheva told Gurianov that God spoke to her in a vision and gave instructions.

Their mission took them to a city in Russia's Volga region. Egorycheva had said: "God wants us to go to Nizhniy Novgorod and cleanse the world of sinners".

Very sad the Female had kids. You have to wonder why the headlines are all saying jehovah's Witnesses committed the murders. Almost looks like a couple of demons found a new home. I have little doubt there have been people who have become artificial JW's and committed crimes but this was not one of them.

She wasn’t actually a big Jehovah’s Witness anymore, really. According to Strana.ru, Elvira became disenchanted with her local congregation, even writing letters to the editor of a local paper expressing her disappointment.

Vladimir Gurianov and Elvira Egorycheva have confessed to 10 murders, and some Russian media have reported that there may be as many as 15 victims. Cops are currently investigating possible burial sites.
“Prince Mikhail” and “Princess Elena” were perverse doppelgangers to the Russian teens in Yaroslavl (read all about that nightmare here) who earlier this summer allegedly burned and consumed 4 other teens in the name of Satan. In both instances the killers claimed religious motivation, but further examination of their acts showed they were really just savages experimenting with their own capacities for evil. Perhaps the “Prince” and “Princess” clothed themselves in white and claimed to hear the voice of God, but in the end they were working from the same playbook as the Yaroslavl “Satanists.”
