What the hell?

This thread here is not a compare and contrast exercise.

This is an endeavor to find at least a shred of redeeming character and quality assurance in a man who has horrified the entire world with the suggestion of being its most influential "leader". I'm terrified.

So don't talk about Hillary. I can't stand her, either, but she has some good qualities ----

holy cow, you people just aren't ready for sane discussion. Probably never will be.

Excuse the hell out of me for making an effort to find some balance.
Screw all of yas.

Sorry Buzzy, truly am.

It's great you are taking a decent look at Trump for yourself.

Everyone should do that, who has these insane views and repeats the lies and spin.

I been a Trump fan from day 1 when he announced. Finally! Someone with some huevos.

I like what he says and wants to try to do.

MINI RANT BEFORE DEPARTURE:

I didn't realize how mired in middle-school histrionics this group has become.
Carry on then with your vicious hatred and bickering. I'm done here.
I'm going to alert the mods, too - you all can carry on with the blithering idiocy of name calling and finger pointing and insulting and accusing and gnashing of teeth.

Too rabid for me. Have fun. Destroy each other.....see if I care.
Actually, you know what? I think you all have finally bludgeoned the caring right out of me.
Well done.

It is therapeutic to step back from the mud pit on occasion, gain some perspective, and realize it's just all entertainment for the masses. In fact a surreal fantasy of fake implied audience involvement in a theater of the absurd.

the cast is rehearsed, the band is in tune and the directors are waiting to see their handiwork....

Have a drink of lemonade then join us again. The curtain is about to go up for the second act. "The Convention"

No hate here, Buzzy. To me, it all boils down to the Supreme Court nominee. Hillary will at least nominate a moderate. I am scared to death of who Trump will nominate, according to what he has said recently. This is VERY important: we MUST not have another super conservative who might be able to get some very important decisions overturned.

I'm glad you've decided you won't vote for Trump. Vote for Gary Johnson if you hate Hillary so much. Anybody but Trump. Please.

I have now come back to my senses:

Yep! Donald Trump is not cool. Not at all.

Thanks for helping me pull my head out of the scary monkey hole!!!

At least I can't be accused of not giving all of them a fair hearing.
Sanders/Warren is still my favorite ticket.

Sign stays in the Yard.
Bernie Sanders for President.

Thanks kayla.
See, I don't "hate" any of them. They don't warrant that much energy and emotion, as far as I'm concerned. I don't like her, and I still don't like him...

I was only trying to explore whatever it is that others see in them....and present some info.

I'm not voting for either of them.

Trump out-lies Clinton at almost a 2:1 ratio.

For every lie Clinton might tell, at least two come out of Trump's mouth.

Here:

PolitiFact recently calculated that only 2 percent of the claims made by Trump are true, 7 percent are mostly true, 15 percent are half true, 15 percent are mostly false, 42 percent are false, and 18 percent are “pants on fire.” Adding up the last three numbers (from mostly false to flagrantly so), Trump scores 75 percent. The corresponding figures for Ted Cruz, John Kasich, Bernie Sanders, and Hillary Clinton, respectively, are 66, 32, 31, and 29 percent.

Link

So 75 percent of what Trump says are either "pants on fire", false, or mostly false (that's how you get to 75%). By comparison? Those same three categories for Clinton add up to 29%.

Yeah. Say whatever you will, believe whatever you force yourself too -- the fact are the facts, and Trump lies more than Clinton.

Period.

Aside from Trump being very irritating to listen to because he basically babbles and goes off on tangents constantly. he does seem to be claiming to want to do good for the country.

He really needs to get the rambling and nonsense under control as it is very difficult to even listen to an entire speech without flipping channels in search of something easier to follow.

Nobody at the helm of this country can get anything done if those who are not elected don't want changes to occur.

Due process is Hillary's right as it is the right of any other citizen of the U.S., so anything that is supposedly being charged against her is a non issue without being convicted. But her husband's administration was the one that struck down Glass-Steagall, which allowed the banks and wall street to rape the entire country for everything it was once worth.

Trump, I am sure, benefited handsomely from the things the Clinton administration did and he represents the corporatist, flagrant disregard for the little people here.

They both massively suck ass.

Trump only sucks a tiny bit less than Clinton.

There is no point in voting.

The idea now is to vote the local contests. Vote locally. In the larger view, your LOCAL government is far more influential than you are when considered in Congress. Start electing local legislators and leaders whose platforms you agree with.

They are the 'Junior Varsity' team that we need to begin grooming and training and forming into what we really want. The POTUS is such a remote figure that it's barely even important tracking who the hell it is.

Look around your own state. Are you satisfied with how the governers are managing the condition of your own 1/50th of the nation? Are you starting to understand that the local nobleman - they used to give the label "Count" - therefore "county" -- are expected to care about you?

Imagine this: Every state capital is the castle of your nobleman. All of the areas around that castle and for which he is expected are his (e)state. Those, in turn, are designated to local magistrates and sheriffs who are expected to keep the peace. Every subdivision who has a magistrate and sheriff of its own is called a "county."

Nothing has changed since the middle ages - we still live in fiefdoms. They just look different. Some are obviously wealthy, others are not. Read or seen The Hunger Games?

It's really like that.

I thought that you were going to answer your thread title with, "Because I'm drunk right now."

That said, like a few others, I'm surprised that you think he's okay...at least politically speaking.

How do you feel about Gary Johnson, if I may ask?

I disagree with you at times, but I ALWAYS read and consider what you write.

I respect your opinion, very similar to Benevolant Heritic.

I love you even more now.

Thanks for being real.

ETA: Compare that video of Trump to this of Hillary.

If Bernie was the Dem nominee I would be very undecided right now, but with Hillary it is cut and dry, ABH.

I'm truly trying to keep as open a mind and as calm an approach as I can muster.

That is a rare gift anymore.

There are clinical terms used for that kind of thought
Biden - Sanders ? Joe Biden is irrelevant and was made that from day 1 of Obama's Presidency. There is a reason Obama did that , ya know

You made my point for me, thanks.

He'd be great. I'd have no problem with him, or Kasich, or Warren, or Sanders.

I'm still unsure of the 3rd party vote. Is a vote for say, Gary Johnson a guarantee to get Hillary in the WH? I don't know either way anymore. Voting against Trump, is that going to insure another Clinton presidency? That's my major dilemma. What's your thought on the 3rd party vote in this election?

I know this whole election thing (and this OP! LOL!) is a horrible mess, but I've never really felt horrible about Trump....

and Hillary really really bothers me. Her smile, her posture...her self-assured "queen of the prom" attitude....

love Liz Warren, and because Liz is possibly on the ticket, it makes me feel better....

but you know what would be even better????

Trump/Sanders
or
Trump/Warren

I can only respond to your post with 'I am Truly 'F'ing Shocked' Buzzy. Really I am. Of all the PC Crowders on ATS I would never of guessed in a Millenia that you would have changed your mind on this. I remember a thread where you stated Trump wouldn't win and he was a huge loser.

Why the Change?

Did you read the entire thread? I don't think Buzzy changes her mind at all. Just not as opposed to the people who are voting for him (my opinion). You should read the thread. It's pretty funny seeing the lefties squirming over Buzzy's OP.

I don't think any "lefties" (good label, makes you sound classy) are squirming over the OP or anything related to Trump mainly because he's getting destroyed by a corrupt hack. Democrats could jam a turd on the end of stick, roast it like a marshmallow, then wave it in front of Americans noses and the people would still pick the turd over Trump.
