I gather you would NOT appreciate us praying for you to have more tolerance?

LOLOLOL.

Sooooooo, perhaps you'd share with us . . .

at what age and what was the context

WHEN

your hyper sensitive hot-buttons were installed re "religion?"

EVIDENTLY

the concept of Father God

WANTING, DELIGHTING IN

inviting human individuals to enter into a dance with Him via prayer

is a concept that is impossible for you to wrap your mind and understanding around.

Impressive narrowness, that
.

Well, if I'm wrong I won't ever know.

If you're wrong...

So when you prayed for turkey last time it was bombed, why was it bombed again? I thought you prayed for it?

or does praying do nothing..? I think it does nothing.

Who said anyone prayed for it to never be bomed?

Maybe we prayed that those who were stricken find aid, comfort and justice. That isn't the same thing as praying Turkey is never bombed again.

Obviously, you've never seen miraculous answers to specific prayers.

I have.

It would be lunacy for me to deny those realities.

Sorry your life has been so bleak . . . and . . . narrow.

I'll stop praying when you come make me.

I have said it before ... if me spending the last 10 or 15 minutes before I fall asleep at night praying bothers you so much, too damn bad. The only way you'll stop me from it is to physically render me incapable.

So what? Maybe take that energy that disgusts you so much about people's personal choice to pray after such a horrid event and use it to put out some positives vibes instead of negativity, to even volunteering to help, for those affected.

Plus I figured #Stopterrorism, why the need for a hash tag, is a given due to the fact of what it was.

Cry it out man.

You'll feel better in the morning.

If you pray, you are part of the problem.
#ReligionIsTerrorism

Really? I mean it's an opinion but... it's not a very good one... I pray but I'm not religious, how does that work?

Let me get this over ASAP
Do you offer prayer or condolences to the victims and their families in the latest current events ? If , not why bother ? Just because you do not like it , the survivors and families may. Whats your problem ? You dont have to read about it until you get yourself worked into an anti-religious fervor. Just "turn the page" and "forget about it"

Condolences are not anywhere near prayer. Prayer suggests a higher power. If higher power cared this would not have happened in the first place.

Condolences just mean I feel for your loss, which I do. Prayer, means I feel God should have some influence on what happened. If God cared these people would not have died. If God let these people die then I do not want to have anything to do with God.

If you are to abuse to understand that then whatever. If there is a God, which I am not denying their is, then God can piss off, because he is not better then the worst dictator that ever lived.

So basically, you want God to take away your free will anytime you are about to do something with which He disagrees? That is basically what you just asked for in the fullness of its context.

In order for you to have the choice to do as you wish in life, including mock God, you have to allow that others likewise have that right, including the right to do horrible things with their freedom like blow up airports and shoot innocent people. These things that we humans choose to do, including those bombers are within our purview to control. They are our choices to make or not as we choose.

Sadly, they chose to do evil things. Wishing for God to stop them is wishing for God to take control of them and likewise all of us.

No.... I am saying if God did exist then that is exactly what God would expect. That is what the bible preaches. Follow God or don't go to heaven. Nothing different than what Dictators do. Follow to Dictators rules or else.

Just FIY I am not religious. Religion is mind control for the masses. That is why there is over 7,000 different religions on Earth.

There is an alarming trend in threads lately
that whenever Muslim's act out and bomb or
shoot people, users come to ATS to attack
Christianity. I was personally shocked,
that after i'd turned off the electronics
and had a quiet moment with God
to pray for the souls of those lost in
Orlando, to start up and come onto
ATS to find my religion being blamed for the attacks.

I get it, people can't blame another group
on the leftist totem pole of victimhood,
can't blame muslims , they're above gays
on the totem pole, so just have at it and defer
Christians. It's safer, they won't blow you up
or behead you, I get it.

I pray my people will come together
to fight off this threat and stop being
such self hating, self apologising
cuckolds to other cultures. How do you know
my prayers don't have an effect?

You say this isn't anti-religious, rather pro-reality,
yet the only religion you've attacked is
Christianity. I think it's you that's denying reality,
Christians aren't responsible for this one, or the one
before, or the ones that happened every month
against western people throughout 2015.
Or those high intencity conflicts that have driven some Christian sects extinct.
Or the recent Somali Mall attack that killed 147.

I think you've got the wrong religion in your sites,
keep tipping that fedora and enjoy your banana.

Anthony Jeselnik has a great comedic take on this.

Basically he says that people who #prayforthis or #prayfrothat after a tragedy are just really saying "Don't forget about me" "I have sads"

And really that is what they are doing......

I'm really scratching my head at this. I don't know what's more disturbing... Seeing how something so silly infuriates you to write about it or seeing that there are people who actually agree with you.

So... If I pray, I'm a terrorist... I'm the problem.... Yeah sure buddy. Whatever you say. My prayers blows $#!^ up. If my prayers had that kinda power, trust me... I would be praying for something way different than bombs and murders. I wouldn't even be on this planet surrounded by closed minded individuals who point their finger at everything and everyone. On a similar note, I could say... You know what grinds my gears? Listening to people who complain about other people praying when they should get off their fat tater butts and go out there and do something, but the problem is... having those same people do just that kinda makes me think that they would be the ones mowing down 100 people in a night club.

So, you want to take away the freedoms of those who pray because you're tired of seeing it on a PUBLIC and wide open network of media. Does it bother you that dirt is brown but the leaves on a tree are often green? Is it that only your opinion matters? Do you own twitter? Is it yours? Are they forcing you to read these prayers? Are your eyes pried open while strapped to a chair, watching endless feeds of twitter prayers? Why do you care what other people think and how they react to various things around the world when you react the way you do? Isn't that being a hypocrite?

Well... Since you have that special kind of internet that forces you to look at web pages that you don't want to, you seriously should consider getting a new browser or internet service.

I understand but there are about 300 million twitter users.

IMO that is a low number stating/encouraging us to pray for Turkey.

I don't know, what would you prefer to see?

Seriously, I'm asking.

It's your 'rant' so I suppose it doesn't really matter. Just trying to help you feel better.

I already said what I would like to see. #StopTerrorism or #HelpTurkey #AssistTurkey #SaveTurkey #WeStandWithTurkey.. anything but the same old garbage #PrayForTurkey, because you know what, with that attitude they are going to get bombed again. Are you going to pray for them again next time and expect something else to happen?

Honestly just writing about how much this pisses me off is actually helping. So frustrating..

Here's the thing....I am spiritual and believe in a deity. However, I absolutely agree that #prayfor___ does nothing but make the poster feel good

I, however, have two issues with your post

1. You REALLLY need to get over yourself and the subject. If seeing these posts bothers you so much, you must have some deep down foundation issues

2. I am almost jaw-to-the-floor faced right now...becausse you stated...."#prayforTurkey is worthles...instead let's try "StandwithTurkey, #StopTerrorism, etc..."

Is that a joke? Those hashtags are just as useless and offer just as much 'help' as #PrayforTurkey. All of them are self-congratulatory and are not one bit different from #PrayforTurkey

So if I ramble on twitter with the hashtag #StopTerrorism or #HelpTurkey #AssistTurkey #SaveTurkey #WeStandWithTurkey, that does count as doing something constructive and will absolutely stop terrorism?

That's like praying to the twitter gods ... just meaningless hashtags that do nothing. Maybe you should just get off twitter.

People, just stop using your freedom of expression to convey condolences to the victims and survivors of a horrible attack.
