What monetization route are your referring to?

Our mitigation level is $1,400 a month at this point.

I've been writing a list of who could be responsible based on who gets criticised on here:

Muslims
Christians
Scientists
Blacks
Whites
Asians
Gays
Transgenders
Russians
Grey aliens (!)
Phage

I think if we can uncover an LGBTMCSBWAGTRGP+ group, we can nail the culprits. If anyone sees a Bible-carrying, white male in a pink burkha speaking Russian with an Iranian accent, please contact SO.

Do you mean "Phage" as in the member Phage? Anywho, that's a long list. One thing you forgot is guns or anti guns.

ETA: I see he popped in while I was typing. Talk about timing.

If ATS was a members only site, where members pay fees (like you've talked about in the past) instead of relying on ad revenue mostly from lurkers, as most of us don't see ads...would that deny access to indexing bots, etc. that might cause server issues?

Do you guys know where the attacks stem from?

It took that long? Are you tired? Usually it seems like you come up with them in seconds.

By definition, DDOS attacks come from "everywhere."
That's the first "D", distributed.

Really just beckons the
why ?.....

I will hazard a guess and say the hacks are coming from disgruntled members ...

That there is intent is, of course, likely. But by nature and necessity, a DDOS attack comes from many places. The majority of which are unaware that they are doing it. It's done via "infected" machines. No way to identify the perp.

How badly dissed would someone's gruntle need to be to pay $100s on this game??

Whilst that can never be entirely dismissed, the greater probability is that it's a group with more resources at hand than one person. It could be political due to some content on ATS or collateral in the sense that it's part of something wider.
