Michelle has every right to tell Men what they should be doing, because she is one.

Europe is not the US, America is (not only) the US.

I was not talking about Europe and when people say 'America' they are referring to the United States.

Any other nits you want to pick?

Maybe since it was coming up on Fathers day... they should have talked about the men who are taking care of their families... involved in their childrens lives and treating their wife right..

Instead of saying be better... poor message delivered very poorly.

Oh we have tried when think don't think our kids shouldn't be murdered without so much as a by your leave from people like Mrs. Obama after all they are just a clump of cells.

So... as far as I understand this "sentence", someone is aborting your children, and Michelle Obama is to blame?

You know, I have a bundle of criticisms for the Obamas, though more for the POTUS than for the First Lady. But this sort of thing makes me grin at the thought that the Obama presidency has got to be the most amusing political Rorschach test ever.

If it's to "be better" at frisbee she probably has a point. I don't get to play that much due to the weather.

I'm guessing the consensus is that women shouldn't talk about men unless it's to praise them?

Better than the consensus that men cannot talk about women unless it's to praise them.

Woman criticises man, therefore woman is brave, strong and independent.

Man criticises woman, therefore man is sexist and misogynistic.

Hey Michelle? Focus on women being better women instead. I'm getting real f%(&ing sick of the whiny, handle-with-white-gloves snowflake princesses who simultaneously want everything done with chivalry (because damn you, rude men!) but can't be bothered to appreciate s# & bitch about stereotyped behaviors because Feminists F'd them up that bad.

Men are fine. It's women that need a holier-than-thou attitude fix. The majority of my gender sucks at acting as equal as they demand.

The usual inferiority complexed feminist on a pay back rant to make herself feel superior ,men dont do enough around the house ,men dont do enough house work ,men should treat women better ,men should not go fishing or hunting ,men should not own guns [because they are used to threaten women] men should not have hobbies or interests outside of serving their Master ,men should do what they are told to do by women, otherwise they are sexist and commit violence against women ,small boys need to be stopped form whatever they are doing because they grow up to be violent against women ,alot of my former friends from school ,colledge ,you cant go and see anymore because of their moaning obnoxious self centred bitching wives ,the whole world has to revolve around them and what they want or nothing. We are being painted into a PC corner with all these shut up do what your told clauses, instigated by the UN and powers that be ,and turned into a bunch of pandering emasculated steers and effeminate queers ,Michelle p...ss off you whinge bag !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you watch this video?

The interview is literally all about how women can better themselves. It is a very long discussion on that.

The comment that there are men who could work on bettering themselves somehow was a very tiny proportion of the content here!

I went back and timed it. Exactly one minute, wiithin 43 minutes, was a mention of ways men could look for ways to better themselves.
It was preceded by saying we're here to discuss ways women could work on growing, but there are men here today too, a lot of cool men, lets applaud men.

All this preceded by the expression that they feel we all continue to grow until the day we die, so we can all continually look for ways to be better (the typical american value, no matter what the gender). The other 42 minutes was all about ways women could work on bettering themselves.

Really....... I am against feminism, I consider myself MRA, but this here click bait is making a mockery of mens more realistic complaints about todays media and culture.

The point I think most people are missing in regard to her comments is that she chose to take a dig at fathers on a day that is meant to celebrate fatherhood. What would be the reaction if a prominent male took a dig at mothers when asked about his message for all the mothers out there? Anything short of "thank you for your care, support and devotion" would be met with extreme scorn and ridicule.

That is the double standard that exists and is rarely addressed.

Actually, I think she was complaining about Barack. See below at 0:13
She complained of being "a single mother"

Yes, we agree, Barack is a lazy asshat too busy playing golf to help you,

You confirmed it Mooch....

It seemed to me that Oprah was steering the interview and asked for this. Michelle didn't so much choose to take a dig- she was asked to say ways men could be actively part of the feminist agenda. She tried to balance that with a big "give it up for the men" and stuff..... but I actually think she handled it pretty well, considering the context and situation.

I think, my opinion is that Michelle Obama isn't so much the problem as is this third wave feminist agenda, in which it is positive to have all feminine gatherings and clubs (and use terms like the United States of Women) but unacceptable, intolerable, to have all male clubs or gatherings... and to use a term like the United States of Men would have provoked a violent reaction!

My God!

When did ATS morph into GLP?

The Mandela Effect! This thread has to prove that it is a real phenomenon.

What does GLP mean?
I tried googling it and can only find "Good Laboratory Practice"
or "German Light Products"

Mandela Effect in action.

Can't find it under GLP because it has morphed into ATS.

Just left another tread with Rome in the title and if there was any doubt before, that thread with this one has removed all doubt.

Didn't Michelle get the memo?

It's no longer politically correct to refer to "men" and "women", or "he" and "she".

These gender biased statements are the source of all of societies problems.

It creates a hostile atmosphere that pits one group against another, and raises all sorts of emotional problems.

We are just comrades today.

We no longer have "mom" and "dad", just "parents".
