They left, because the procedure was established to avoid provoking an incident. Again, it has nothing to do with "running like a bitch". If the US aircraft had been bombing, and the Russian aircraft came into the area, the US planes would have left. The communications failed, but the pilots were briefed to avoid each other and any potential incident.

I dont buy that explanation. When Russia attacked the US used the established procedures that were agreed upon and Russia ignored it. Russia left when we scrambled our fighters and stayed away until they left to refuel, at which point the Russians returned and continued the attack. This occurred near the Jordanian border where no isis units were present.

It was an intentional act by Russia - twice.
Russia ignored the agreed upon procedure - twice.
Russia fled when US aircraft entered the area - twice.

We should have downed their aircraft from the moment they ignored procedure.

ETA -
The forces Russia attacked, which were located at the Syrian-Iraq-Jordan border, were a part of the cease fire groups. They never should have been attacked.

Pentagon, Russia hold video conference after bombing of CIA-backed Syrian rebels

The Pentagon held a video-teleconference with Russian defense officials Saturday, two days after Russia bombed Pentagon and CIA-backed rebels not once, but twice on Thursday near Syria's border with Iraq and Jordan.

The bombings killed an unspecified number of fighters.

The Pentagon said these US-backed rebels were fighting ISIS, which Russia has also bombed in the past.

The second wave of strikes occurred after the US military called Russia on an emergency byline established following Russia's deployment of dozens of fighter jets and attack helicopters to Syria in late 2015.

Whether you buy it or not doesn't change the fact that the pilots were doing what they were supposed to do to avoid an incident, and it's the same for both sides.

My point was the target they attacked. Even after the hotline was used, and ignored, they continued the attack. After our planes were scrambled, Russia withdrew and then returned and attack the same non isis forces when our fighters went to refuel. It was not an accident nor miscommunication. It was deliberate.

I find your response quite informative, do you have any opinion of the 1000's presumed "disappeared" in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina?

LEO's were apparently executing people that were wounded

I never said that it wasn't, now did I. However, your comment was also that they "ran like little bitches" which is utter BS. They avoided conflict with US pilots, which is exactly what the entire system is supposed to do.

The claims were made y Cynthia Mckinney for starters. Her sole source was a person she wont name and he wont come forward because he supposedly signed a non disclosure agreement with the federal government, which should be red flag number 2. Since she made the claims no one else has come forward, including the red cross who she claimed could verify this anonymous persons claims. This person claimed that all 500 bodies he processed had a single shot to the head.

I don;t buy the story and thats based on the reaction to the gun grab they dod and the cops who shot the people on the bridge. If they cant cover up cops killing people on a bridge do you honestly believe they can keep quiet the "execution" of "5000" people?

Now, as for the 700+ missing -
We are talking about a city, that thanks to the army corps of engineers and their levees, resulted in parts of the city being below sea level. Thanks to the refusal of the governor / Mayor to evacuate people you have a situation where mass casualties were inevitable.

Not everyone can swim.
Not everyone who can swim is good at it.
You have sea creatures swept inland that dont mind eating corpses / live people.
You have land animals that dont mind eating corpses / live people.
You have an environment that can increase the rate of human decomp.
You have an environment that makes it very easy for a corpse to simply disappear in the muck / swamps / bayou / etc.
You had such an disorganized evacuation that made it easy for those who fled the city to be lost in the refugee / red cross system.
You have people who fled the city and never realized their status was listed as missing who didnt come back to NO.
Louisiana is the only state in the Union thats based on Napoleonic code instead of English common law.
You had such a chaotic number / layers of government involved that made the situation worse.
You had children placed with family / friends out of state whose parents / guardians didnt make it.
Those layers of government did not coordinate / work together.
The Governor of Louisiana refused to place her national guard units under federal command and the only way Bush could have forced the issue would have been to declare Louisiana / New Orleans in a state of rebellion in order to federalize the guard.
Sometimes situations like Katrina create an opportunity for people to simply disappear on their own for their own reasons.

I can keep going but you get the idea.

Were people murdered? absolutely. By police? absolutely? By each other? absolutely.

Were 5000 people executed? I say no because it could never have been kept quiet. Personally I believe (and im gonna get attacked im sure) race was playing a factor in those claims. Comments by Nagin about NO being a chocolate city, them blaming Bush and the speculation Bush didnt do enough because the people were black.

There is nothing illegal for a person 18 and older to pack up their bags, walk out the front door, never tell anyone where they are going and never looking back.

When they attack a target and after being told to stop and they continue, then turn tail and run when F-18's show up, only to return when they leave and attack some more does in fact fit within the category of running like little bitches.

God forbid they use the guard channel to communicate.

No, it falls into the category of "not wanting to create an international incident or worse". Would you rather we go back to the good old days when planes were shot down for nothing more than going near someone's airspace? Because it sure seems that way with your attitude about this.

If they dont want to create an international incident then they should use the protocols in place instead of ignoring them. They should not have forced a scramble of US fighters because they didnt use the protocols in place. They should not have returned for a second attack after all the attempted communications the first go around. The fact the second attack occurred after our forces went to refuel shows they ignored the protocols and did so intentionally.

My attitude is what it is because im tired of our weak president rolling over all the time. My attitude is what it is because I dont like hanging people out to dry after we told them we would protect them. My attitude is what is is because this was not an accident on Russia's part - it was intentional.

If you agree to a protocol then ignore that protocol it moves the situation to self defense. This is the same bs Russia pulled with Turkey and after ignoring numerous warnings from turkey over a couple of months involving diplomatic protests about violating their airspace it became apparent Russia was not interested in communicating.

Engage the threat and tell them to pick up the phone the next time.

Sure, we'll just go back to our planes being shot down because they're flying near Russia, because someone didn't follow protocol and turn their transponder on. That was such a great time, never knowing if you were coming home or not, because some trigger happy pilot may shoot you in the face because he didn't like you flying near where you were.

No, not near Russia. The shoot-downs during the cold war were a result of sovereign airspace violation on both sides.

Again not near. Secondly the comparison is not on the same level with whats occurring in Syria.
