AGAIN?! ABC: 42 people shot, 7 killed in Chicago Weekend Violence

I am a casual browser of ATS but wanted to bring up something that seemed odd.

So in the midst of the Orlando turmoil..


42 people shot, 7 killed in Chicago weekend violence

I found the above link from FB so I decide to google it first (as usual) to see if it's legitimate but then I also came across THIS:

Story reads very similarly. I'd rather not crawl down the path of conspiracy as we all know in this day and age with information being so accessible it is very easy for events to correlated.

Thoughts?

I'm in the Chicago suburbs. The shootings are so common that TV news no longer covers them, unless it's a standout student, little kid, or 3 or more at a time that are shot. The shooting-to-murder ratio is fairly low (or high?) because of small caliber guns and poor aiming by high-on-drugs gang members.

As I've mentioned in some of the Orlando mass-murder threads, in Chicago, more people are shot/injured every week, and killed every month, than were injured/killed in Orlando this past weekend.

And this is the WORST tragedy. This goes on week after week . And everybody (with the exception of you OP )just lets it pass on by

Sad but true.

We were discussing this today at work. We think it's the cuteness factor.

People would give if you ran an Chicago ASPCA (have you seen how sad those animals look in the commercials?) but run an ad showing the streets of Chicago and say its for a children's park and see how much you get. I know that sounds awful but I don't think they fit the right "poster"

Mortals on this site have a ...selective empathy program or something,not very sure what to call it,it's very ,interesting,it's been noted.I don't think your going to get a thousand replies but thanks from the Universe and life itself for bringing this to our attention.

My heart goes out to the Mothers and fathers and family members who lost a love one,it seems like evil is in full throttle ,not only in orlando but here in this,war zone that resides inside this very continent called chicago....May you all rest in peace.iml527

But it's straight black males getting shot. Liberals don't get all-Facebook warriors-for straight black men...unless they get shot by a white male. Or If it's a white male cop, then their 'O' faces come out.

Welcome to the Black Lives Matter movement, where it only matters by what you just described.

Amazing and despicable how many of us are completely brain dead by relying on mainstream media to dictate our thoughts and feelings, and our exposure to reality.
More people are shot and killed in a month in Chicago than the folks who lost their lives in Orlando.
So it's alright for people to lose their lives over time verses a comparable number all at once???
I'm sorry, but isn't Chicago Obama's Alma mater??
Sure, young black men are knocking themselves off in record numbers and that's horrible. (Personally, I blame rap music, tolerant teachers, easily accessible social benefits, lack of meaningful jobs, destruction of the family core, drugs, gang violence and allegence, etc.. etc...).
Even if there was meaningful jobs, most are already conditioned to see that as "sucker" or "square" ways of living. Meaning, it wouldn't be an option even if there was one.
There's no turning back for the hardened criminals that fester in our urban areas. They are encouraged by illicit drugs, clothing styles, sociopathic music and media, and a mindset of 'I don't give a f#'.
THE CULTURE HAS BOTTOMED OUT!! The only way it could go any lower is if they mounted a full scale assault on an entire city's infrastructure; completely overwhelming any and all means to reign them in.
It could happen.... Honestly, in this day and age, I'm surprised anyone is surprised at all.
I'm sure a majority of people in Chicago don't give two sh#ts about what happened in Orlando.
The fact that their cries for help have gone unanswered should strengthen our resolve to stay armed and ready. It's COMPLETELY obvious that these events are just political tools to strip our rights away when we need them the most.
Instead of engaging head-on with the violence in our country, our next step is to allow mid-Eastern immigrants into our country by the thousands after wiping our asses with their culture and countries. This is all planned to bring us to keel and submit to a solution after the chaos.
I say to you....my fellow countrymen and women... pull your f#king pants up and stand firm!!!
Instead of trying to subvert law, be a warrior for the Constitution and stick it back up the ass of our so-called "leaders".
Like it or dislike it, it's the best framework for governance that has ever existed. ....take pride in that and defend it at all costs for everyone's sake. We must stand together.

People die every day, all over the planet. We are all going to die one day.

But when 49 people die at the hands of one person in tragic circumstances due to either repressed homosexual tendencies amplified by religious guilt, or because it was at the approval of a murderous gang of religious fanatics, it will obviously make the news.

And in that it is a lot different to people dying at the hands of many various individuals over either gang related reprisals, turf wars, or robbery.

You can't equate the two, in my opinion..

Where is BLM when it comes to the rampant violence in Chicago?

Almost every week dozens of black people are injured or killed in the city that is considered BLM's seat of power... yet they don't say a peep about it. Nothing. Their silence makes you wonder if black lives really matter to BLM.

And most likely all from handguns not "assault rifles" as usual.

Most likely illegal guns that police won't bother to investigate how they were obtained, as usual.

And even if they found out it was a straw purchase by friend or family they will not prosecute the purchaser, as usual.

Look through the daily arrest records for Chicago.

All you will see is a listing of murderers.

It hasnt changed in years. And it wont for years.

Did anyone mention it's black on black crime so it really is not anyone else business. Also many of the woundings they shoot each other in the balls so hopefully it takes them out of the gene pool and they get disability. A win win!!

Apparently, they do ans say quite a bit in regard to Chicago death and violence. That took me seconds to find.

So why aren't they rioting, sorry i mean "protesting" the violence in the city? They can get thousands of people to march in Ferguson and Baltimore over a single death but not Chicago? I guess money talks when Soros is footing the bill.

The are protesting almost ontinuously. You didn;t click the link I take it?

Wow those gun laws really pulling through for Chicago - If only the rest of the country could follow their lead we could have 40 deaths every weekend in every state.

This happens almost every weekend in Chicago and is a great example of the total failure of strict gun control laws in the US. The politicians are too stupid to realize that the criminal element already has firearms and always will, because they lack the political will to clean out the gang problems in the inner cities. All they're doing is making it difficult for law-abiding citizens to defend themselves.

But Chicago already bans assault weapons.
I'm sure there must be a mistake...

Chicago gun laws have been loosened by the courts over the past 5 years.
Still though, a ban on assault weapons and you have to have a license / personal registration to buy firearms.
