I recently watched a documentary on the Colombian drug war during the 70's and 80's. Apparently Orlando was very violent back then.

I wonder if this could be a drug related thing?

I think the last thing America needs right now is terrorism against the LGBT community.

I guess we will have to wait, pray, and let the authorities do their jobs.

If it's gang-related, or drug-related, probably because beef was had & location didn't matter. Never does to those cretins anyway, the amount of innocent people caught in illicit stuff conflicts crossfire shows as much.

I'm wondering if the "bomb" was in fact a kevlar vest. Those affiliated with certain gangs and cartels down there don't mess around when they get confrontational. It wouldn't be the first time someone started something and was found to have been armored up.

I remember the Cuban gang wars of the 1980s.

"In House" happened in clubs, a lot.

Not always. I can think of several spots just in the Tampa area where 'bangers go all stupid & make it a public show.

**Edit: And these are cartel-affiliated gangs.

Listening to the Emergency services feed, last few minutes I've heard "breach" and now a "hazmat call"

I have never heard of a drug gangster strap a bomb to themselves and take hostages...this is more of a terrorist plot...aka Muslim threat most likely

And Orlando's still one of the known major distribution hubs. It really would not shock me if it was a turf war or a retaliation job.

A lot of new recruits are coming here from Cuba, more than in decades.

I wonder if we're seeing some new drug gang action. Speculation.
