Thats a good question. Theres a very clear difference between abuse and what were discussing in this thread.

Verbally purposefully demeaning someone in a relationship repeatedly and whats happening with the social narrative in the media with the presidential elections are two totally separate and obvious topics that anyone with half a brain in their head can rationally draw lines between.

But the rational people aren't in control. Once they allowed common, non derogatory language to be attributed to victimization the flood gates were opened.

I think the only way to combat it is to call it b.s. to its face and not succumb like all these weak willed politicians have.
