Wahhhhh! You hurt my feelings when you said that!!

Bahh, wrong!

Only you can control your feelings and it's about damn time you take ownership over the way you feel and stop trying to police other peoples language.

Let's take a look at the word ownership and see what it means...

Google

own·er·ship
ˈōnərˌSHip/
noun
noun: ownership; plural noun: ownerships

the act, state, or right of possessing something.

The right of possessing something. YOU possess your own feelings, they are not mine to determine. They are yours and only you can effect them. Feeling victimized by my words is a choice YOU make for yourself, not one that I make for you. In todays world of safe spaces and everybody wins if you say something someone finds offensive, or derogatory they feel they have the moral high ground or the moral authority to take your right of free speech away and this is the beginning of a bigger problem. The scariest part of this entire paradigm is that is a small minority of the population who are attempting to and beginning to succeed in taking control of the public narratives to the point of where our presidential hopefuls are having to comment on things such as what bathrooms are we aloud to use.

Thought crime, spoken of in Orwell's 1984 is the basis for and beginning of an authoritarianism that we are seeing really popping its head up during this years election cycle in a way I've never seen before... all the way down to what bathroom people are using.

Thoughtcrime Wiki

The term was popularized in the dystopian novel Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell, wherein thoughtcrime is the criminal act of holding unspoken beliefs or doubts that oppose or question the ruling party. In the book, the government attempts to control not only the speech and actions, but also the thoughts of its subjects.

In this case we are speaking about the far left and extreme liberal logic, where we have to use the proper gender pronouns depending on the pronoun someone chooses to be called by based on some gender spectrum. Not that I inherently have a problem with this but I have a problem with the fact that these issues are being used to control and divide to implement a more direct system of control, control of our speech patterns and thoughts.

This is a scary trend and I am not confident that the younger generations are going to break this trend. With the destruction and perversion of our school systems at both a local and college level, our children are being used against us to further this agenda.

(I'm tired this thread may be all over the place)

The terms homophobe, rascist, fascist, islamophobia, right wing and climate sceptic will be so overused and worn out no one will give a damn when the real fascist raises his head....and I will probably die laughing when this happens.

Could we be getting desensitized to these words as part of a bigger agenda?

The MAPS doctors working with vets on **** studies say they are walking the vets through the trauma over and over and over again until they are desensitized to the situation.

Thats how they are curing PTSD.

This tactic has been used for others things but what could the purpose be this time?

To get us used to the changes?

Really? Does that also apply to cases in which emotional abuse against spouses and children can be justified?

Emotional abuse is a type of abuse that often plays a role in many family law cases. Basically, emotional abuse involves exposing a person to behavior or language that can result in the psychological trauma for the witness. Emotional abuse can lead to anxiety, depression, and other psychological symptoms that may result in physical manifestations. It is sometimes referred to as psychological abuse or mental abuse, although these terms can have slightly different connotations.

www.legalmatch.com...

Sounds to me that you are trying to justify ignorant and hateful speech because those that use such speech are unwilling to take ownership of the consequences their speech may create.

Yeah...probably should, unless you want to have snowflakes around you scattering to their various safe spaces all the time.

Well, being in better physical shape, having more confidence and being more masculine gives me an unfair advantage. Because they don't want to work for those attributes it's my fault.

The constant upheaval of this victim mentality is absurd. When people use papercuts as examples, they make a mockery of stab woulds. We used to call people like this pious, vain or just outright assholes. Now we are forced to call them by whatever "gender" they decide to come up with tomorrow.

Ok. Discuss the topic.

It sounds to me, after you get past the irrelevant thoughtcrime aspect, that you are trying to justify the consequences of speech and place it on the shoulders of the recipient, even when those consequences have a psychological and emotional reality.

There is no cure for PTSD. There are coping strategies.

Are you sure your information is up to date??

MAPS seems to be publishing peer reviews that state otherwise.

No stretch needed. I only used their own words to show the folly in their opinion.
