There's been stuff going on...I've had a stalker or 2...seems to have finally stopped, but who knows.
A lot of us have some pretty stressful real life stuff going on, which doesn't help.

I personally am feeling like an outsider at this site lately. God forbid I show interest in a conspiracy theory...getting "shot down in flames" would be kinder than some of the comments. Perhaps some of us need a break.
There is obviously a need for chit-chat and camaraderie or we wouldn't still be here, with new members joining in. I think some people are feeling that the 'story' has become less important, but I don't want to speak for anybody else.
Maybe we should consider an alternate thread, a Shed Lounge for chit-chat only...? Just trying to think on my feet right now.

Unfortunately the "Coffee Lovers Thread" was shut down...it was usually always busy.
This place started as a story...and ended up as a kind of haven for some people who enjoyed the company. I know, I was one of them. Nobody wants to lose that, I don't think.
We'll work it out. We've lasted over 2 years...that's something to be proud of, old member or new.

The coffee thread was shut down due to volume I believe, but sadly it happened at about the same time that The Shed got moved from 'short stories' (because at first, it was just my short story)...to chit-chat...(because even back then we were yacky-doodles, lol).
I don't think they wanted a bunch of chatty threads, which is a shame because they're popular. People want to talk and some of us spend a lot of time alone. The 'support' threads and 'birthday' or 'celebration' threads are a hit, and I know that people have messaged me and Night Star to start a thread for another member...so we have.
Besides, the serious threads are a crap-fest of arguing any more. Might as well have cyber drinks and laugh.

1984 (Bob)...It seems to happen in cycles...usually the quality goes down around here when the kids get out of school (North America) for the summer.
I just notice all the negativity...the naysayers and trolls...they ruin just about every thread I'm interested in (conspiracy side). I refuse to stoop to their level so I just bail out and leave.
Funny thing, I haven't written any storyline for a long time and was thinking about combining my character (& Sophie) and my love of time travel...and maybe have jacy & Sophie wake up in a different time in the Shed. It seems a little complicated in my head, but I might try to spit it out at some point, lol.

I think we Shed members have done a damn good job of keeping a thread alive (and HOT)...and we have contributed so many great writers and their work to the fiction writing contests.

If a member posts something that is within the T&C and is in the proper forum, what are we supposed to do? We're not going to start closing threads because some folks are tired of talking about certain topics. That is acceptable behavior on a private blog, not a community forum. If you read some threads in BB&Q and Rant it would appear that someone is sick of every topic that is discussed here. Transgender issues, politics, gray area/skunk works topics... there are portions of the membership sick of each of those. And yet these are the issues the world is discussing, so they're going to show up here as well. It's an election year so there's gonna be nasty political stuff. And so on.
