If you're white you're racist

If somebody hates you because you're white, they're an idiot. If you spend time worrying about what an idiot thinks of you then you're the bigger idiot.

Unless it spills into some kind of violent confrontation just be happy doing you.

Why Americans get so bent out of shape over name calling, protests, perceptions and non events is beyond me. There are people out in the world that have encountered actual life threatening violent racism, including whites...to cry about names or being looked at funny is trivialising the seriousness of what they go through.

My girlfriend calls me a dick at least 3 times a day, let's start a few thousand threads where guys can moan about how they aren't actually dicks and how others thinking they are makes them feel. Maybe we can bond and start some kind of I'm not a dick movement.

You must not know early European immigrant history in the early 1900's in the US.

And really it all starts with ourselves as individuals.

Sure, some of us come into life with more opened doors for opportunity. Some of us come into life with next to nothing.

That said, if we all worked individually to become better people -- and strove to become the best versions of ourselves we could be -- the "other stuff" that plagues our society would fall away.

Instead of trying to live up to other people's expectations and society's expectations, if we mastered our own potential we'd probably find less racism, sexism, class divisions and social impoverishment in the USA.

DArk-skinned people are not the problem. I don't think the vast majority of lower and middle class whites are the problem either. As you say, many of these atrocities were carried out by elites on behalf of whites.

I'm mostly talking about this narrative that people have that white people can't do/wear/say/enjoy X because of actions carried out by people with our skin color that happened decades ago. Also the narrative that whites are always privileged, have no problems ever, and are always rich and evil racists. I've seen this type of thiking everywhere. And the type of people who think like this also will lash out at Asians, and other minorities because they see them as having privilege. I've seen them lash out at gay men. I've seen them lash out at ftm transgendered people as well. I'm talking about the social justice community/tumblr and so on. Not any ethnic communities. A lot of the people who have this way of thinking are themselves white.

To me, people are just equal, and everyone needs to be treated the same, regardless of gender or race.

You've never been a white guy living in a black neighborhood where the tables are turned.

I've been held at gun point jumped turned away from stores and all kinds of crap. Yet I still don't hold it against an entire race.

If goes both ways buddy there are bad people everywhere in every culture.

Matter of fact I would put money on it it's more dangerous for a white person to live in in a poor black neighborhood then vice versa 100%

Im have seen more whites get welcomed in black culture than vice versa.

in fact, a lot testament to that are examples in pop culture, music, fashion etc.

an Urban white person is, all things but a menace; quirky, irreverent, cool, has style etc. in fact, i know a lot of minority neighborhoods where if a non minority walks through everyone sort of talks or exchange or nod in solidarity.

what youre saying must have been so specific to you its not applicable.

Urban whites, have a cache of exploits when it comes to diversity. a white can dress urban and walk through Harlem NY with no issue, whereas a black in cowboy boots will not tread some areas in the south.! yea... prove me wrong. and ill start 'googling' for proofs too. my experiences werent caught on video, maybe that makes my points less poignant..

you miss the point here. the demographic against those star wars characters will always be the same. no asian person will get their panties caught in a bunch over that. why should it be frowned upon to point that out. the ones against a fake ad which portrays a mixed family are always the same. those against a black game lead character are always the same; nevermind there was no problems with main characters aliens or robots, but black ewww... i never seen blacks writing threats because the lead characters in videogames were almost always white, if not a robot or alien creature.

so what now. you want to pull recent ( like last 5 years) statistic of hate crimes, killings motivated by hate, church burning motivated by hate, do you want to guess their ethnicity. or do you want to google first then come up with a rebuttal.

we cant compare these things with the pointing out of racism like the OP, or saying whites are probably the most racist sub species on the planet is far fetched. ( eliminate religion or poverty, there would still be a group firmly against an ad which portrays a mixed family... you guessed it.)

Some Asian people got mad because a museum had a 150 year old painting of a French woman in a kimono in one of their exhibits. This type of thing happens in all demographics.

Blacks kill whites, whites kill blacks. It happens all the time. They are an extremist minority. I don't know anyone who is wanting to kill black people or burn churches. That is like saying all Muslims are going to blow you up.

Whites are not the most racist subspecies, every group has racists. Branding an entire race of a billion people as racist is in itself racist.

youve just cemented my argument then. whites calling whites racists for liking cultures other than their own. (probably call her, your sister 'N' lover. fact , not fiction)
i enjoy country but im not white. but the people i hang with who dont like country would never call me racist.
what other race would do or say something so extreme. even in asia, interracial couples are more accepted as long as traditions are upheld, but hating or self hating is not even a topic.
