The US didn't create ISIS so much as its actions inadvertently aided in its rise. In fact, there is little evidence which supports the allegations
that the US intentionally created and funded ISIS. The West has been actively fighting every variant of ISIS since 2003. We put them down in Iraq when
they tried their uprising in 2006/2007, and we are actively putting them down again, albeit through less direct means.
The fact we have spent so much time, money and energy in fighting ISIS, completely undermines the assertions that the US would actively seek to
support them.
Yes, the US did initially support Syrian rebels who eventually defected to ISIS and other terrorist organisations, but i doubt it is something the US
was hoping for. Just recently, the US, in coordination with Jordan, deployed a new rebel unit over the latter's border, which began attacking ISIS and
taking land in the south of Syria. It shows that the US is still wanting to fund rebels to not only combat the Assad regime, but ISIS as well. This
isn't even mentioning their extensive air campaign since 2014, and their support for Kurdish units which has arguably turned the tide in the war
against the group.
The conflicts in Syria and the wider Middle-East are too complicated to be seen in black and white.
