Those are a fond memory from Renaissance Festivals as a kid!

Fried Oreos are easy. Just mix up some thick pancake batter, coat the Oreo, drop into hot oil, fry till golden on both sides, sprinkle with powdered sugar. Then feel your arteries hardening as you eat them!
I only make them a couple times a year.... And I can only handle 2. Very rich.

I'm from New York...
And over here.... we're known for hearing of the horrors of the world and trotting along without a care. If you must know.... it's like that because everybody over here works.

Also... we all adopt dogs and force them to live out lonely lives. Or we have their b@!!$ cut off to ensure that the man of the house is indeed the one with the cojones.

When I found ATS... I thought I found a beacon of hope.
So... I joined, thinking I could learn and relearn and contribute.
Then I found out there was a karma system and a wats system and a star rewards system.
My fellow ATSians never want to give me stars... my wats never improve... And my karma is so low I'm sure I'll answer for my transgression in the afterlife.

Either I am worthless to ATS.... or the deny ignorance has a personal vendetta to settle with people named Pinocchio.

Tn.... And because the fancier things of the state have already been mentioned, and I'm a foodie, I'm gonna say fried Oreos- because I had never had one till moving here and they are like crack! Also, chocolate gravy, but that's not my thing.

So you're a foodie, does that mean you work with food or you just like to eat it? I work at a golf/ski resort and as you can tell by my name I am a sous chef.

No not French, I can do some French cooking. A sous chef is basically the French culinary term for assistant manager.

I work with food, at home, because I like to eat it!

But seriously, I love trying new foods. My sister in law just married a man from Jordan, who works in a store/restaurant that caters to the middle eastern population. Its heaven to me, because my small town has none of the amazing things he sells/cooks. (He makes the best hummus I have ever had, and I can't seem to replicate it.) Ideally I like to make "good for you" stuff that tastes great. But that doesn't always happen in my kitchen (i.e the fried oreos).

What kind of stuff do you make? Is it uber fancy?

Buy chickpeas, open the can and tip into the food processor. Add the tahini, crushed garlic, salt, lemon juice and seven tablespoons of the reserved liquid from the cans. Turn on the food processor and slowly pour in the oil while it runs.

Never turned out like what you buy at a middle eastern restaurant

My source uses citric acid (instead of lemon juice), and, vegetable oil (olive oil goes on top), then sprinkles with sumac. Also, he adds a little yogurt too. But I just can't get it right. I can't buy store bought hummus anymore, it's no good to me. I guess he will just be stuck making hummus for me for the rest of his life!

Well, I was born in Alaska, but live in MI.
We are known for looking like a mitten, our monster lakes, and being a split state.
And since I live below the bridge, I'm a troll. Those Upper's take that pretty seriously.

And rednecks. lots and lots of rednecks.

I'm from Northern England originally. Living in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada now. Vancouver is famous for Whistler ski resort and hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics, beautiful scenery, mountains, beaches, whales and most Hollywood movies and many tv show are filmed here. Lucifer was the most recent one I can think of.

I'm sure there's more I can't think of.

We have good hospitals and the best rehabilitation centre ( for physiotherapy) in North America in which I attended.
