I'm very sympathetic and supportive, a 'hugger' and I hate confrontation.

I enjoy robust debate but I'm also a hugger as well.
I think the best example I can was when I stabbed a burglar many years ago, straight through his shoulder area with a kitchen knife. After calling 999 for paramedics and police I ended up tending his wound with the knife still through him, I wrapped a bandage around it, told him he was going to be okay, comforted him blah.

I may be a blunt opinionated prick but I do have compassion for fellow humankind...even if they are pricks lol

Ahh...hahaha....that's hilarious! I would totally do that too! I thought it was just the 'polite Canadian' in me, hehe...

I completely agree with you though.
I try to separate the "I don't like what you're doing" or "I don't like what you're saying" from "I don't like you". It's not the same thing.

(Argh!! I want to say, "Unless you're a dirty cheating scumbag scouse" lol, but that's not very nice.)

Same here, but sometimes it is a stretch to do that depending on the issue we disagree about.
There's a white supremacist guy I know in the pub and I told him instantly that we disagree when we first conversed a couple of years ago. We have never had a similar conversation since then, he keeps his racist views to himself around me, but I'll still play pool against him, had a game only last week lol.

Oh yes, sometimes it's a stretch...sometimes it's just not even possible.

I've known a few racists, though not many actually which is good because I do find that hard to tolerate.
I could play pool with one who kept his opinions to himself BUT if he started picking on someone around me, the pool cue would get rammed 'up his kilt'.

That's pretty much how I roll, it is why the guy keeps his mouth shut about such things when he's around me.
It would end up in a physical violent fight, and he clearly does not wish that either.

I feel I'm straying off-topic though so I'll just say again, there are many facets of characters on ATS which I disagree with, but regarding liking them or not, overall, out of the regular posters I like all of them.
I just disagree with some of the bull# they come out with

Well it was good talking to you. Nice to meet another kindred spirit.

Okay, back to the regularly scheduled topic.

I'm learning magic tricks here.
Apparently when I say "kilt", you automatically *poof* into the thread. It's like I conjure you here.

I know it works, because every time I write "naked" Augustus *poof* shows up.

It's like when someone types in "donut"...*poof* I show up.

I just never know who I'm going to *poof* next!

To be fair... it has been a long time since I heard the words Kilt, Poof, Naked and Donut in the same paragraph...

Well... a few days anyways....

Hmm...so which word is your *poof* trigger, or is it the four altogether?

(This is scary yet also rather exciting!)
