Its possible he did...the thought crossed my mind along with aliens....
Paulides avoids conclusions now if he even suspected big feet he has never brought that up in any of the several interviews ive heard.....
Besides, tyhere are many big feet believers out there even if he is one....he stays neutral on the subject as far as I know.

He is one for sure. His two earlier books deal exclusively with bigfoot and he was with Melba Ketchum working on the DNA study. He has said that as far as he is concerned, he has proven it to exist and now he is moving on to working exclusively on this mystery.

None of his books cost $50.00, though. The link David Paulides always gives is THIS ONE

As I said, I don't begrudge anyone getting paid for their work. But if you've been to his website you'd be hard pressed to reasonably make the case that the primary focus and intent of that site, and ostensibly the organization, is to create public awareness of this phenomenon and get to the bottom of same. Anything but. IMHO, the information should be published far-and-wide with the greatest possible and widest accessibility. Something like this should be funded as any non-profit (I know, this is anything BUT a non-profit) would be. Through fundraising, crowd funding and donations. Not by selling books at $50 per. Unless actually getting to the bottom of this is less important than getting paid.

He posts current missing persons of strange circumstance on his website. He is non theatrical, he dont need a flashy website to sell his book.

i dont understand what it is you want with this??

Yes, this guy wants to earn money from this, and he DOES spend a lot of time working on this, so I can understand why. But what do YOU want?

Do you want this guy to stop earning money, and do it for free??
Are you asking us to get started on this projekt for free? or are you asking for help to get started?
Cause thats all you have to do! Get started on this thing, and do it for free
you cant ask others to do that, if you dont want to get involved yourself

Some of these stories seem to have such obvious conclusions. They found a couples boat in intact. Well, do you think they vanished or that one fell in, the other tried to save them and they drowned?

That there seems to be a lot of children and elderly that go missing seems like a freaking given too. It also doesn't seem all that strange to me that someone that went through a traumatic experience blocks it out. Especially if they're old or young.

If someone gets turned around, which is easier than you'd think, they very well might end up far away from where they were thought to be. Scavengers and insects work fast. Stuff grows and covers evidence.

I'm going to go look up the most notorious cases, I think there were like 3 that actually gave me pause.

I don't think Paulides is implicit at all, but I do think there is a chance he is hyping this to sell books, or because he's a little cooky, or both.

If you have researched this at all then you would know that David Paulides has had to pay a lot of money to get a hold of these archives that supposedly do not exist. That is at least what I have read on other sites talking about him and his books.

I had to look around for something I read a few months back written by a SAR with the US Forestry Service. There is quite a bit in there and there is talk of stairs in the middle of no where, that go no where. True or not I can't say but I can say there is more going on in the world than most people think.

As I've read his books and listened to his audio at various times . . .

I'd say his nonverbal expressions; his word choices; his sentence structure

leave me 99.99999% convinced he's absolutely authentic, genuine, honest.

I think he's outraged at what's going on and more outraged at the government cover-up.

I don't think he has the pathology etc. to be as duplicitous as you speculate he might be.

I remember listening to one of the shows he was on once, I don't believe it was c2c, but rather, a smaller podcast. Someone called in and said they'd be willing to help make an online index so more patterns may emerge. The caller offered to do it for free and give dave credit for the index.

This was one of the only times where he has made me question his motives. His response was, pretty flatly, no. He didn't want to have anything to do with the idea.

It was really weird.

He said the books all had indexes at the back and that was good enough. But like, why would you not want a searchable index available so you could more easily cross reference and compare? It just doesn't make sense.

Not to be an ass, but do you have any training in identifying honesty in those criteria?

Did you really link /r/nosleep? Come on.

NoSleep is a community for original horror stories. Stories may be true or not (but they are almost never true). While our stories are fiction, we treat all stories like true, real life experiences, because the best scares come when you are immersed in the story.

If they ever find the culprit I will guarantee you its not super natural and I will bet its a combination of many things taking them, wildlife to humans to weather. The fact the bodies are found in a previous searched area doesn't take into consideration the fact unless every square inch is searched people miss things in searches. How many times do police re search areas and find things they missed before ? items not aging is a perspective and unless you could compare a similar item that has been in the same location as a control then you have no hope of just guessing that it looked new.

People go missing in our Outback all the time and in some areas are not found due to the amount of old mines and scavengers removing any signs.

how do you miss a giant log blocking the trail with a body laying on top of it....they went up and down that trail several times before?

what happened to this guy? it was a box canyon he was at the end , shallow creek, he has not been found and the life preserver hasn't been found either

Morgan Heimer-22 years

Missing 6/2/15- Grand Canyon National Park, AZ

Hiking

Not Found

Morgan was an English major at the University of Wyoming and had a summer job as a tour guide for white water trips on the Colorado River. He was an outstanding swimmer and competent guide. Morgan’s group of boats pulled the group to the side of the river at a regular stop where they take guests up a side creek. Guests take a short walk to a pool where they jump off boulders into the water. The group was walking back to the boats along the small creek, Morgan was wearing his life preserver and was last in line when he disappeared. There was an extensive search by the National Park Service, nothing was found of Morgan or his equipment.

An employee that worked at the same guide company that Morgan worked contacted me. He explained that the other guides on this trip are completely baffled. The area he disappeared had a small creek with cliff walls on both sides. He stated that it didn’t seem possible that Morgan could disappear as he did.

I would be careful with allegations like this-this is libel and slander. If it was not for David Paulides the public at large would never even have Known about all the disappearances and about the danger+ the many strange deaths of people in National parks and forests. He may have saved many lives, including the lives of small children and young people,by bringing to the public the awareness that something is taking people and often killing them. How disgusting to infer that he is involved in this cover up .Even worse,in the conspiracy itself.Because of his tireless work, at least now many thousands if not millions of people at least have a clue about the danger.

I suppose it's possible he was suspicious of the caller's motive, or perhaps he simply did not want to make his books obsolete? Many artists are protective like that.

He seems genuine enough to me, but it is possible he is wary of something.

I think Paulides keeps an open mind in this case, which is good. He tries to follow the evidence and not assume, but maybe in the beginning he thought bigfoot was involved.

No. It can't be slander, not in this venue.

Yes, walking about in the wilderness can be dangerous, something everyone should be aware of. However, instilling a fear of the wilderness is not to be lauded.

Some tricky ones there but all explainable mate, the interesting thing I found out of all this is the star cases. Why no photo's ? surely someone who has seen them had a mobile phone on their person and took a pic ?

My story is pretty scary though, when I was a teenager a friend I went hunting up in a pine plantation with a river flowing through it. To set the scene we were walking back to our car which was 1.5km away up a very steep gravel road. We where about a third the way up when my mate heard something so we stopped, it stopped. We walked and it walked about 10 metres into the dense scrub parallel to us. We had no torch and its very dark but after this happened a few times my mate whispered to me " Stand Still and I will walk ahead, see if you can hear it or see it". As soon as he got a few steps away from me I heard it, something big and heavy was trying to follow us up the hill as quietly as it could through the bush. At this stage I had had enough, I leveled my shotgun into its general direction and let rip. What ever it was, it got a hell of a fright and I heard it crashed through dense scrub back down the hill away from us at a rapid rate of knots.

He started out finding a high frequency of missing people in national parks and got lost in what's called mission creep imo. Looking at Bigfoot reports led to the dead body reports and he saw a book in it.

His last interview on Coast included bodies being found in water with massive GHB levels. Rather than reasonably conclude these poor men were victims of murder, or death by misadventure, he left it as mysterious. He extended the mystery to the canals of Greater Manchester (English county) and said some 60 bodies have been found in them. Anyone who knows the area knows that canals are hazardous; they aren't walled off or anything. It came across like a disservice to the deceased to make it all spooky.

I think he started out raising attention for what he genuinely believed was a cover-up or lack of proportionate action by the authorities. However subsequently he's gone for the zebras over horses and habitually characterises inland water and wilderness deaths as 'high strangeness.'

In the interview he, again, humorously complained that the various agencies charge him for their records. Whether he agrees or not, he's not an investigative reporter, he's an author selling books.

Paulides gave an interesting account of people going missing who wore brightly coloured clothing on an island somewhere which I found fascinating. The locals made him take off a bright shirt as their superstitions said you would likely go missing if you walked into the hills wearing that kind of high visibility clothing. No hint of a clue as to what was taking the people and in particular children but thinking outside the square here the one commodity a young child has is they are prey for a Pedophile or even a child stealing ring or pedophile ring which could account for the loss of some of these children.
