Actually my mother knew she could not provide me the childhood she felt that I deserved and made a loving choice to carry me to term and find a loving family for me. I think about her almost daily. I am trying to locate her unobtrusively so I can determine if she would be willing to receive at the very least a 'thank you' for such a critical decision for a 16 year old girl who felt backed into a corner.

Please don't project your burden of rejection on others.

heck, I think the women who spend the most time in these discussions like us are older, we've had our kids, we raised them, heck we couldn't have more if we wanted to...
but, we are also old enough to remember what it was like before roe/wade and when birth control wasn't as widely available. we were friends of kids who had 7 or 8 siblings, heck the good ole days when valium was mommy's little helper because that was the only way she could get through the day without going start raving mad!

I dont think all or even most avoid killing people inside them as much as you or I are committed to avoiding that extreme.

I dont like the fact that people can just kill babies so they can look better or go to school. Sex is nice.

figure out if you are going to breed and if not act like an adult in a world you share.

If I have to respect that capital punishment is illegal in some states to honor the lives of scum bags then Others should accept that they may have to forgo the murder of children if they CAN have kids.

DONT REPRODUCE FINE! HAVE AN OPERATION or REVEL IN THE MYRIAD OF BIRTH CONTROL OPTIONS.

The right to choose does exist. I say others like a court should decide if a kid dies just for vanity or so personal life goals can be met.

A court decides if a death row person dies. This should be the same if there are NO health risks and no one was forced.

No one proved the merit of the counter argument so we will carry on.

So, you don't know your birth mother. You have zero idea what she thought of you or if she even cares.

You were rejected.

But, you've created a fantasy in your mind that she loved you because she gave you life.

nope, had a good pediatrician and well, she'd offer my husband work when she had odd jobs around the office some because she knew we couldn't afford it, till my husband decided that being a truck driver provided for a better budget and well, started driving cross country. but, no, no help. and well, I was going to a nice church till I heard them chatting with each other about how if "her husband didn't want her to be there (at church on sunday morning) she shouldn't be there, and I just quit going there after that, so no help from them either.

BTW - - my first husband was adopted.

He was lucky to get parents who loved him and had waited along time for a baby.

Unfortunately, he was so much more then they were. A brilliant mind, but his parents were actually "slow" - - very loving people, but "slow".

Now I have kids. I have no idea if there are any health issues in the family. I have no history. One side of their heritage is a blank slate.

Just a reality. Just a fact.

I had family.

I also had to be bedridden for most of it. Could never have done it on my own.

I don't think most people take it as lightly as just that. Some people really do find themselves in a scary situation and don't know what else to do.

Even you or I with the planning we take could still suddenly be in that spot too by just making one little change or testing the odds for a moment.

The capital punishment thing for me isn't at all some moral thing. For me it's just always seemed like a bad idea to legally sanction the State to Kill it's own Citizens because the State often finds itself in a position where it gets rewarded for killing it's citizens regardless of why they might be doing it. The State also isn't a person capable of identifying with a person. It's more of a machine.

hey most of us actually went through the hassle of getting married, we weren't having multiple kids by multiple partners and expecting society to raise them for us! most of us either worked in the workforce or we were home playing happy homemaker... if our generation is a curse, then the ones that followed are the devil's spawn!!!
