Exactly

I'm so tempted to explain the show since so many got Lost on the way to 'getting' LOST.

I'm holding myself back..

I can't think of any loose ends in the show.

The character names..
The ....
The...
This
And
That..

All needed to get the show.

One of the great tv series- mysterious, intriguing, wonderful characters. It got a bit convoluted as the years progressed but I love the show and own it on DVD.

I agree with Saturn and Reverbs.

Lost was a masterpiece. It was not for everyone though. Its not Gilligan's Island or Survivor. Its the wildest trip you have ever been on, filled with, yes, lots of cliffhangers, game changers and total mind f(@ks! It is filled with symbolism and references to great books, mythology, music, philosophy, history, science, religion, physics, metaphysics... so many things. You have to watch it on the surface as an adventure, but also deeper. I usually watched it once for the story, then again to search for clues. Just when you think you know what's going on, everything changes. I loved that aspect of it. Complete unpredictability. You have to pay very close attention to keep up. Back when it aired, there was a site called The Fuselage where all the fans came together to discuss the episodes. It was a great community of minds working together, bringing what knowledge they had to the table. I miss that.

To say I loved this show is quite the understatement. But you have to be sharp to keep up. If you are just watching it for entertainment value, you will be lost eventually. You will need to use all your brain cells for this one.

One of the greatest aspects of this story is the characters. They are so rich. You will hate some and love some. Then you will love the ones you hated, and hate the ones you loved. And somehow, you can both love and hate them at once in some cases. Obviously, the acting and the writing are top notch.

As for the ending... the ending was written right after the pilot and they never changed it. They knew how it would end from the beginning and they wrote towards that ending. After years of build up and mysteries, viewers had their own ideas of how they thought it would end. There was no way a single finale could please everyone. It took time to process, but I am pleased with the ending and how it wrapped up everything they had been through and why. I thought it was a beautiful ending. If you didn't get it, and feel questions remain unanswered, there are plenty of articles where you can read how it all tied together according to the creators.

Don't let anyone steer you away Alphaz! You are in for a wild ride, lots of emotional upheaval, and quite possibly the best series you will ever watch! You might decide it's not for you, like some others here. But you might be like some of the rest of us, and think its the best show ever!

(Season 4 is short, and somewhat lacking. There was a writers strike that year. Stick it out, it gets better!)

I binged on that show a couple of years ago, and yes, as everyone else has said, it sort of got too crazy in the last season, and the ending, well I had guessed it in the first few episodes... but that didn't kill the fun for me.

I was along for the ride, not to get to the destination. I had a coworker who was talking once about a tv series he was enjoying, and he said something like, "I can't wait to get to the end". I was very puzzled by that. If it is enjoyable, why do you want it to end????

Meh... but then, I am a woman and we're built that way, I think...

Awesome show. I like that there are still questions. I rarely binge watch anything, but Lost didn't last long once I started. Absolutely devoured that ish. It reminded me of the xfiles in a way. As someone else noted, I'm a little envious that you're just starting. What a journey. Enjoy!

The ending leaves nothing but questions and a ton of plot holes.

Not really, for me it came full circle, everything was explained.

The show was initially supposed to be longer but ABC I think after the 3rd season and the writers strike gave them limit of how many more episodes they could do and cut the story short.

For those that had following I guess its good they did cut it short as it would delved deeper into things that would have made much of the audience loose interest if they couldn't follow which seemed to be case even with the finished product.

I binge watched the whole series a few years back.

I have done so a few times since its finished, maybe thats why I feel the way I do.

Lindelof and Cuse said it would make more sense once you re-watch it from the start again after you finished watching it, I have to agree.

SaturnFX's post sums it up perfectly.

This kind of inspires me to delve in and rewatch it- which I have never done with a tv series, but .... I just might do so!
I loved the delicious confusion. And John Locke. I liked that character.

John freaked me out because so many of his characteristics are so close to my characteristics, All the characters had something I could relate to which made them so interesting from my point of view.

I have re-watched it about 3 times since it finished in 2010, each time it gets more mind blowing in my opinion.

Ah, I know what you mean, But when you start rewatching it you feel like Jacob, you understand the how and why's of the Island yet it still gives you goosebumps, probably more-so than the previous viewing.

When it was airing originally I used to get anxious and couldn't wait for the next episode, I would download them as soon as they aired in the States, Now I have it all on Bluray and once every so and so I watch it from start to finish over a few weeks, Love the characters, the depth at which the show explored each of the main characters and the amazing soundtrack is what made the show special, the ideas and mysteries and connections between characters in addition just made it mind blowing.

Not yet. I actually only watched the series recently (a couple years back). I will do eventually, just gonna wait a bit longer I think to forget a few more things.

Was a truly ground-breaking show at the time. Totally changed TV. I enjoyed it and watched it from episode 1 while it was on. Was hard to wait each week! Though the ending wasn't really done well, but then...what can you do?

When the last episode aired, we went to a LOST finale party. We had Dharma labels on all the food and drink, a LOST cake, the whole bit. Was fun. We even did a LOST themed mystery dinner.

I was introduced to lost by an ex and didn't quite binge watch fast enough in 2 weeks to get through seasons 1-5 before season 6 so we had lost nights... We had a group of four who never missed an episode at my place, but because I didn't catch up yet I had "lost" nights.. Southern comfort 100 proof. Mmm the only issue was me having random outbursts "quantum mechanics!" Dude his name is faraday?! Lol..

But the next day I forgot season 6 and kept catching up.

Lost nights.

So fun.

Actually we had another round of lost nights with more friends seasons 1-6. Those were even better. The show is better when you sort of know what's up because you can get deeper into it without losing the main story/characters/emotions/music..

One of our main discussions about the show was which characters we liked at the time. That changes a lot mm. Character development is amazing. You might instantly hate a character and as the show goes on hate them more, and then what? You love them.. Only show ever that had me talking as if the characters were real people.

I was talking to my favorite bartender at work few weeks ago and she was asking why I didn't watch tv much. And then I was like "well actually there was one show I liked a lot.. Lost. Her eyes widened, she got super excited and the next few hours was ramble high speed talking about everything lost.. Her favorite show too.

You know the ending of lost is similar to me as the last 2 movies in the matrix trilogy. If you don't get the white rabbit reference or trinity her name or a million other things the last 2 movies are not as good as the first. But if you get it... You see neo and agent smith make the caduceus as they fight.. You get the train man and the whole story that is being told about reality. That's like the ending of lost. If you get it it's oh so satisfying.

I loved Lost. Watched it from week to week. Big TV night, and I didn't watch much TV.

It's true they flounder really bad for a couple of seasons, and it's bad enough that you know they are floundering as to how to proceed. They are all over the place.

BUT.. to me they pulled it together for the last season.

I had figured out the ending the first season, but then as it went on, I thought I was wrong, but then no, as it turns out I was right.

My top three TV dramas: Breaking Bad; Dexter; Lost. They are all great, if you want to binge watch the other two.
