Her right as she is the only one with parental rights.

As for Islam bashing. I'm pretty sure most other religions aren't pure either.

OMG that means laws of britain has met their expiration date long ago.
In my country both parents have equal rights regardless have they been married or not. When child is registered, names of the both parents are in paper ( unless mother do not give a name of the father- and if father do not agree on parenthood he is required to do dna tests then ...) ...

Stories like this piss me off.

Just more of our media trying to demonise Muslims.

She has custody of the child and a court has ruled as such where there is a conflict over what faith the child will be raised with the decision has been in her favour.

Its the right thing to do.

What really annoys me though about this is it where say a conflict over a Catholic vs Church of England case it would be a footnote in the press if it even made the papers. Stories like this are not about anything other than pushing a agenda some in this country have that is anti-Islamic.

Would you be singing the same tune were the religions reversed?

I'd wager $20 you wouldn't be, and you'd be feeling exactly how I'm feeling right now, claiming social justice as your justification.

He lost his parental rights after they got a divorce, went to court and it was decided that the mother would have sole custody.

Sole custody=full parental rights

This is how the law works when a parent has custody. It happens all the time. It's right in the custody language in the orders.

It's the same in the US. Just look up family law and custody orders.

Well not necessary end of the game, he can appeal for review of his case and claim shared custody even full custody.

Something would have had to have changed for this to be overturned.

He can apply all he wants. It will most likely be a waste of money.

Wasn't a Saudi man recently put to death for being an atheist?

Congratulations. You are doing a fine job fanning the flames of hate.

And I'm sure the divorced father holds no ill will towards her and would never do anything malicious causing this dispute to go to court and be ruled by a judge..

But sure, lets blame Islam and the fall of Britain.... derpity derp

Oh, and the Daily Mail is anti immigration, and apparently Muslim, so I never take anything they print seriously.

But at the moment she has full custody therefore full parental rights. Doesn't matter what he can do, only matters what he can't do at the moment.

Nothing new, Christians have been demonizing Muslims since the Crusades. It's kind of like if Pepsi fans were scared witless because Coca Cola was sweeping the globe in popularity. The Pepsi fans would find any and all ways to demonize Coca Cola fans.

It really comes down to Christianity being scared for its life, and loosing relevancy in the world as another religion encroaches upon its long-standing hegemony of the hearts, minds, and souls of the people.

"Yeah but Islam conquers and uses violence to spread!"

And Christianity didn't force conversion at the tip of a spear or sword? We're celebrating a pagan holiday today (Easter) disguised as a Christian on after Christianity forced all the Celts to convert after numerous wars and ethnic cleansings in old world Europe.

I look at religion like a product. If people like product A better than product B, let the market decide...

In an ideal world, we'd scrap both products...both are antiquated.

The real problem with this is that parents who have sole custody do in fact have the legal right to determine the child's religion...
I myself feel that religion is an individuals choice...
and by a certain age let's say at 12 years old the decision should be the child's decision alone...

Today's holiday is not a disguised pagan holiday it replaced it...
Don't twist things into obscurity...
Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ and nothing else...
Any other claim is a fallacy...

The whole "rebirth" thing of Easter with the resurrection of Christ (who probably faked his own death IMO)...?

Yeah, that pagan holiday was about spring and rebirth, it conveniently fit, and Christians placed 'Easter' over top to appeal to pagans.

"See, we worship some of the same kinds of things on the same times/days as you guys!"

*eye roll*

Oh so in a divorce he's no longer the father and has no say in the child's upbringing? Where is this? In the UK?
