Wow nice post.
Spirit though cannot be seen or perceived, it is invisible, so would you say that if one can conceptualize a thing from the unperceived void, that then one has brought the non perceived into existence? I think you would.
So you would you say that there is no single soul/s because ALL is soul.
I would like to add for myself that the GOD particle of existence was imagined and so existence was brought forth, and the one who imagined was the one true God. We are existence but a product of the one who initiated it. IMO
The spirit of life is evident when you contrast a body to a corpse, saying that it gets complicated when you got somebody being kept physically alive by machines. Religions seem to say that the spirit of life continues after physical of death and that a person is somehow a part of that. But when is dead....DEAD when science can keep a body alive, and how can the intangible be entangled to the flesh in the first place?

Its an interesting question because then you have to draw lines between possessing life, being actually alive (mobile and capable), being conscious or self aware, and having a soul. A brain-dead monkey, an ant, a golden retriever and a human. Does someone who is conscious but not self aware have a soul? Maybe someone who is perfectly self aware but no conscience? At what point does something go from just being alive to having a spirit? At what point then does the spirit leave the body?
Its a complicated subject.

The Bible has been interpreted by some to say that animals have no soul as such, but just a spirit of life.
Some might argue against this in defence of their pet cat or dog to have a soul, but then what about a flea or a microscopic bed bug?
Are perhaps a Buddhist?

There is only the spirit of life but it can believe it is divided from itself - that way it thinks it is an individual - a separate thing. It appears that only the human manifestation believes it is separate from all that is. Only thought says that life could be different, should be different.
Each form acts different and appears different than everything else - each appearance is unique. That means the character of the body mind that 'seems' to be you will not be the same as any other character/body/mind. But everything that appears is just appearing like a movie on a screen - there is no one in any of the characters. There is no separate soul - there is only what is happening.
I will take that as a yes then.

Not Buddhist - not any label.
All labels, all words, make believe there is something other than what there is - including the 'soul'!
What is there really?
