Mods. I just finnished. Definitely felt like a rant with political stupidity. So rant forum fits. But it won't let me change.

Unless you committed an atrocious crime. In this case you should not have a right to vote.
( pertains to the U.S. election ) but ATS is world wide. So any opinion matters. What happens here will spill over everywhere.

I was going to place this in the Rant forum. Then perhaps the General Chit Chat Members forum. But as today went by, I suddenly feel like dumping "My property/Home that I paid taxes on". And taking up residence in Belize, Phuket or lower Antarctica. Political issues.

Block party in my neighborhood. One whisky led to another.. Lots of self righteous folks here. Irish and italin. I'm Irish german. Demographics here.. Me 42.. them 60+ or very catholic. Wait a minute. I'm Catholic. And protestant .. a touch of Los Angeles. . So Scientology might have happend.. I also gave up religion some time ago. Never made sense to me. So athiest till proven guilty. But mom and dad raised me in church. However respected my falling out.

My sister's husband. A navy Orion guy. ( SUBLIMECRAFT RIP THAT APART ) laced his fingers on me... and insults me.
for the ( I can't count anymore ). Goes onto say.. " it's not personal. But unless you own property or a Veteran in the service. You should not have the right to vote ". He still thinks im renting. Note.. my life is private. That SOB is just now learning from my father about me. Only been 12 years. He served in peace time. But claims that him being at Port in Spain counted as the Panama invasion..

My response... " what if you paid Taxes? " Then almost every damn neighbor jumped in.. like a true Pittsburgher. No one's business was deemed gossip and everyone's business.

I was born at 4 lbs. So my hearing didn't bake to the proper settings. Kept me out of the military except that one time at the ANG in Reno nv. And test scores approved .Brief but worth it. Was a medic. Bless you Col. R. . Thanks for signing that waiver.

Also.. this is my house! I bought it. Pay bi-annually on taxes... and pay the local school taxes.

Besides the point. I was a registered republican.... when I changed that setting to independent as of late. The party system is a head spinning WTF at the moment. My neighbor Mrs Crotchfire the local poll station lady. Jotted my name and alerted the block. I could sue. But the lady is 93 and relies on my help. But now I'm in a political nightmare.

So now someone has left a crap load of toilette paper and red paint in my yard.
My brother Inlaw made a point to come to me afterwards and re iterate that only Vets and land owners are the only rightful americans, and bound by God to vote..

Damnit I made a mean Pig pickings. And the home made Guacamole for the tacos.

To date. This political Carnival is getting more mad by the second. Christ, it felt like someone started running for president before the previous penned their name in.

If someone told you you were not permitted to vote because you didn't serve in the military or own land. How would you respond.

Me... I have a yard to clean. Some Saturday night. Oh! I was threatened to not wear orange on Wednesday because it reflects northern protestant Irish and not the true green irish.. that's new. Never heard that one.😊👍

Edit: to busy manning the pig. So in about 10 minutes.... I'll have my first whiskey shot oder of the day 😊

Any legal citizen should be able to vote. Even disabled people who can't join the military.

To be honest. Half the time she forgets who I am. So I bribe her with BBQ pringles. Drive her to the emergency room after her falls. Providing vital signs and fresh bandages at the triage desk. Once every month now. 😊

I also get milk, eggs, bread and toilet paper in snow storms. Because she has no business driving anymore. Her left side of the car and house has proven not to mix. 😂

Shame on whoever did that to your yard! They should be doing something good for the community... like helping the disabled and elderly!

What's surprising is I went into the restroom for a minute or two... my dogs did not care. Nor did my neighbors of 11 years.

And I washed my hands before getting back to the food.😆

It's what my brother Inlaw kept insisting on about serving and owning property that ground my nerves. It's not the 1860's. But I got hit from all angles tonight.

Jesus... we'd live in a nightmare if that were the case. I'm thinking feudalism pre-Crusade Franks or just a
straight up military aristocracy if that happened.

I really doubt he would be saying that if he were found unfit to serve when he enlisted.

That right there is the one most stupidest comment ever posted on ATS and most likely the entire internet ( I know , I have reached the end of the internet several times) Does not this ignorant person know that in the military you swear an oath to uphold the ONE SINGLE DOCUMENT that gives every US citizen the right to vote ? TO THE DEATH . It is the very first thing you do......it is as simple as that. NO FREAKIN EXCEPTIONS.

He's been reprimanded for autocratic behavior in the past. But yes... I shudder sometimes.
But it seems the majority rule here is in agreement with him. ( as in this neighborhood and not ats ). I respect opinions. But people are born with defects every minute. Not theirs or my fault. Or anyones, rights are rights.

He's been getting his digs in more and more. It's damn near impossible for my sister and him to not drop in. First thing that happens is he grabs the remote for the TV.. finds a news channel. Put on his Resting Bitch Face. Start yelling at the tv. Then going to my neighbor spouting hate.

Folks here love him. Got to admit. It's a bit butt hurting. 😕

Your brother in law sounds like a walking testicle and reflects badly on other military members, which is very sad indeed.

It's simple. If you are born here. And did not commit an extremely bad crime on purpose with intent to hurt someone. Then it's your right to vote. Anyway you deem fit.

People love drama... I fail to see why. But that's what the neighbors love about your brother-in-law. He's entertaining in that reality tv sort of way. And in that 'Thank God he's not mine' sort of way.
