they made it so you cant click links with adblock enabled anyway... rather crafty if i do say so myself... so members you have no choice you have to see the god awful ads! deal with it!

NO WE DO NOT HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT!!!!

Why should we? If they're getting hammered by finances
ATS needs to find out WHY and MAKE the changes necessary
otherwise THEY DIE !!! Life IS NOT FAIR !!!! Change and Adapt or DIE!

YOUR CHOICE IN LIFE ....AND.... IN BUSINESS !!!!!

Where are all these Ads' people are talking about ? I don't use any type of program to block ads , just good old window's and Crome . Am i missing something ? I mean is it really a big deal ? by the looks of it , it must be ....

Ohh the entitlement generation we live in .. I get it now ...

SMH

If you're a half decent systems programmer it's EASY ENOUGH to
MODIFY Firefox itself to PREVENT popups and other annoyances
---- I do that myself and THAT cannot be detected because
I can redirect ads, audio and video to NULL ports and to
NULL bitmaps/Video textures and that is SO LOW LEVEL
that ATS or ANY OTHER SITE has NO CLUE as to what is
being done. It also helps that MY VERSION
of firefox auto-parses the HTML code to kill
anything I don't like in REAL-TIME!

MAybe I should release my modified version
of Firefox to the public domain! .... BUILT-IN
ad blocking at the Audio Port/Video Texture level
and bitmap display level....I mean --- my work is
so low level at the Kernel or BIOS level
that ALMOST NOTHING can detect that...

until this sentence I thought at least another person who knows his stuff.
Then I read "BIOS level" and my bull#meter went off. I hope that´s just sloppy wording ^^

Edit: But you´re right. Same with the websites who nag me creating an account after 10 articles. Until they sit down on their ass and finally do it right, I just keep my tool running that deletes selected domain names out of the cookies.sql in the firefox profile folder, kill firefox process and let it restore all the tabs. Voila, free access.

My opinion: If one is to lazy to brain something together that works, I gladly show him in the logs how to do it right. Until then, I just keep reading my stuff without being bugged by those messages. IP based article count read or go home. I dont care if it could locks other users out if they use IP based detection. Make it mandatory to pay or make it free but don´t bug me every 10 pages.

Might be alone with that opinion but I´m ok with that.

Unfortunately, BIOS is an apt term because sometimes
system level functions are done AT the BIOS level
on some UEFI bioses (i.e crypto, machine ID,
hard disk functionality, etc.)

For graphics I can just program the Shaders
and directly access the Buffers on any AMD
or NVIDIA graphics card.

For Audio Ports I can access and redirect
the Creative Labs Soundblaster ports
or what MOST people have on
their motherboards a Realtek
audio chip. I've got it's assembler
manual on my desk right now.

For Keyboard, mouse, USB, etc.
the MSDN manuals for the
following programming hooks:

See:
msdn.microsoft.com...=vs.85%29.aspx

For network, I MAY HAVE TO modify the BIOS
on the network card by using a hardware device
to download the microcode, dissassmble it
and study what it does to see how it assembles
IP/UDP packets with any encryption (if used).

Microsoft NO LONGER allows you to assemble
TCP/UDP packets by yourself so I have to do it
AT THE BIOS LEVEL so I can bypass that
operating system level restriction.

...I mean if your totally into systems programming
you CAN upload your own Hard Disk ---BIOS--- onto
the Western Digital/Maxtor/Hitachi/SanDisk/Lexar
disk sub-systems controller but THAT IS REAL HARD WORK!

They do that in certain 3 and 4 letter agencies
where system level bioses are replaced.
You can ALSO do that on the tiny, tiny
microcontroller and microcode software
that is on EVERY USB stick which allocates
and stores data blocks on sectors within the
flash drive/usb stick...

For cell phones, the tiny operating systems
UNDERNEATH iOS, Android or Windows Mobile
is called the BaseBand Controller which does the
low-level communications and DSP signal waveform
creation that allows your phone to communicate
and verify itself with the nearest cell tower.
THAT can be modified too as such a low level
that the upper level OS NEVER gets a chance
to see what is being done.

I subscribe to Electronic Design, Microwaves & RF,
and Military and Space Systems, and have subscriptions
to IBM's research library, so I think at a certain systems level....
even IF certain OTHERS on ATS (he who shall not be named!)
believes I know Jack $h-t about assembler
(Which I actually do!) ... The sheer irony of said
earlier poster telling to figure out assembler code
I am rather familiar with on a deeper level
than he knows..... ;-) :-) he he he
if he only knew.....

Noisy fricking repetitive ads now.
Somebody stop the ads that utilise sound. It used to be so bloody peaceful when I had adblocker, now it's flocking invasively noisy.
Bad form ATS management.
Find a solution that works or lose membership.

Pissed off.

Edit: solution is to reinstate adblocker. It works, no more noisy ads and peace is restored.

Could it be we know us/had contact through projects like osmocom(bb) and SDR? Because you start to talk about baseband level? Or is it just coincidence ^^

PS: I know all that my point was BIOS (despite it fits the meaning) is an awkward way for me to describe the eeproms and microcontrollers used on different parts of you hardware. That´s why I wrote it and I hoped the "^^" hints you to this fact. Just kidding around ;-)

See what he named the script?

I downloaded the source code for that
but I haven't really touched it because
my stuff is more commercial and proprietary
and we actually have to follow certain business
and FCC/DOC/EU legal protocols.

Amazon had a $29,000 4G TX/RX system on sale
for ONLY 299.00 (must of been a mistake!) but
I was too late in getting it because IF I had that
I could have made my OWN 22 mg/bit to 100 megabit
4G Max-Cell-size Internet system with a 60 km range
that would work ONLY on my OWN phones using
some custom BASEBAND code !!!!

See this book too:
www.amazon.ca...

SDR (i.e. Software Defined Radio) is something I am getting into
and was see how I could use CHEAP and simple AMD/Intel/ARM
2 GHZ to 5 GHZ and above CPU's to create the waveforms
and RX I/O necessary to do 1 GHZ to 2.5GHZ radio communications.

with cheap 2 to 5 GHZ intel/amd/arm chips being as low
as $50 to $100 used I can then do my OWN 3G/4G/LTE
communications using synthetic waveform generation
just using software at the 900/1,800/1,900 MHz or
850/1,800/1,900 MHz or 850/900/1,800/1,900 MHz bands!

The we could have a TRULY PRIVATE UTTERLY ENCRYPTED
wireless internet that would work with ANY cell phone!

Calling it "ATS you silly ass hats" would be a reason to take it personal... anybody in the boat?
SSG7, on board?

To get AD REVENUE which is WHY your site lives,
may I suggest something NICER...top 15% to 20% of
a web page is designated as a VIRTUAL GRAPHICS/sound
window port where ALL ads are played.

If you're using ActionScript 3.0 code (flash)
or HTML-5 you can RESTRICT ALL ads to that
top 20% of ATS website banner area so it
DOES NOT INTRUDE anywhere else.

EVEN the popups and all GIFS, JPEGS and Video can
be CLIPPED and restricted to that virtual desktop area
(i.e. the top 20% of web page banner area)

You STILL get ad impressions and users don't get annoyed!

We´re currently building 4G and LTE into it but on another side project. Of course if you need it law and FCC etc conform, that´s a problem. I see you edited your other post, trying to make sense about the assembler part. Care to enlight me via U2U? Because it´s getting offtopic I think.

Ah you meant the one with the force? IDK, I think you both collided much. Both of you know your stuff but you both think you need to proof something. While I certainly can see valid points the force makes, it´s just unfair of the force to dismiss your skills because you sank the boat on that xor in the RGB assembler challenge.

But I also have to give credit to the force when it says "gobbled many technical words together". That was also the flag for me to point out the BIOS thing.

Because I see you posting, I nag you again and in favor of ATS (and the members complaining, because it´s not me alone), finally lets get started on those bugs! I just don´t understand why you´re not fixing them! It paints a really bad picture also in terms of credibility. If you are not capable of, it would be in your best interest if you let someone help you or for god sake hire someone for the task.

It´s not like nobody is offering you help. We have enough knowledgeable people here on ATS that can help you achieve a clean working site. As intimidating as it would be, I would start a thread asking for help. And if not, you know my name and email address. Just jump over your shadow man!

Namaste.

For godsake I´m so OCD about this, I would even sign something to not expose internals. You know my real name already.

I'm appalled. I know John. Blackvault and ATS collaborated a great deal a few years ago. He relies on ads also.

Anyway, his little JS no longer works.

Edit to add: I sent him an email to ask what the hell is going on with that.

---

The IBM PC BIOS Palette modification code
was something he did for the PC-DOS and
Graphics GEM and Undocumented PC books
... NOT TO DISS HIM cuz he actually DOES know
his assembler stuff PROBABLY much more so
than me because I'm much younger!

But I was just kinda, sorta, maybe joshing him a bit
about his supposition that I have a "lack" of Assembler
experience...I was feeling rather fun that day...OH WELL!

I actually mostly program in Delphi/C++ these days....
...although I STILL do have my AIX-386, Alpha Chip
and PC-INTERN assembler books on my desk!

P.s. Look at ur U2U ...

======

--- ANYWAYS --- Back to the topic at HAND....

Use ad blockers that BYPASS Firefox, EDGE, SAFARI
and DIRECT to the underlying OS and hardware.
While I am more than a bit spoiled by all this
hardware tech I have at my disposal, I do know
you COULD find and download driver-level software
to redirect video and animation to NULL graphics ports.

This means ad-blocker detection is USELESS ....
