I think some industry should be LOOKED into being socialist, such as healthcare because conflict of interest and such a high dissatisfaction with the industry.

We could easily pay for healthcare, but we have to re-prioritize. Defense and security must be pulled-back considerably and we do have to address waste in government.

Exactly, I must say you surprised me with your reply. I was certain you were going to attack me for using the 'S' word, LOL

Which one is a federal responsibility, and which one is not?

Kasich won't attack Trump...even after that set up question.
Somebody wants to be a VP.

That's the buzz I've been hearing.

I would agree with him as a pick. He is not my ideal candidate, but he is reasonable and intelligent.

This whole debate appears to have been an ambush on Trump as far as I'm concerned.

Canadians love socialized healthcare they come down here to see specialists.

Americans hate socialism , but they love to praise their military which is complete tax payer funded and controlled by tax payer elected representatives and very close to socialism.

BTW Canada has multiple levels of healthcare.

Rubio saying someone repeats themselves... hypocrisy.

That was the point! Must have went over your head.

Rubio is beating Trump at his own game. That is the only way to beat Trump. Rubio has been impressive all night and dominating this debate.

I wouldn't go that far, but at least they are keeping their powder dry against each other and focusing on Trump.

I'd like to hear more from Carson, he seems to be keeping the higher ground and staying out of the mud.

Seriously? Carson is a joke. Neither he nor Kasich has a chance. That's just reality. This is a three person race between Trump, Rubio, and Cruz. Rubio has been the clear winner of this debate so far.

I didn't say Carson was going to win. I said I admire that he is taking the higher ground, and I wish that the others would try to emulate that.

Higher ground? He is just meek and probably napping up there.

I'm a socialist. Why would I attack you for using it? Your comment showed a willingness to compromise. That is important.

Good question. That all depends on constitutional interpretation.

Defense is a responsibility of the federal government. Healthcare is not. But that does not mean that the people cannot create a central program to administrate a universal healthcare system.

You clearly don't understand what socialism is.... Seems to be a repetitive theme here.

Defense of the Country is not a private good or service, therefore funding the military is not socialism.

Yep.

CNN appears to be doing the will of the GOP establishment.

That throws a wrench in the idea that CNN and the others are Left Wing media stooges.

By definition, it is.

The military is a government-controlled entity that provides a service that benefits each and every citizen, and it is done by spending their collective wealth in the form of taxes.

Sure they can, though either Federal COTUS Amendment, or through State/Local laws. But that would take too long for socialist and progressives.

You have a skewed definition of socialism that seems geared to say anything you want is socialism.

Socialism is the public control over distribution of private goods and services. Military Defense is not a private good or service.

Trump is the frontrunner, of course the other candidates are going after him. The questions are questions everyone has and asks and wants answers to. Romney got railed for not giving his tax returns. Is this everyone's first presidential election or do you not get how it works?

Fair play to Trump, he's had quick witted quips and comebacks for everything thrown at him.

This guy is sharp.

A little more substance and he could probably beat Hillary.

Socialism:
a way of organizing a society in which major industries are owned and controlled by the government rather than by individual people and companies

The US Military is owned and controlled by the gov't and funded by the tax payers. Pretty darn close according to merriam-webster.

There are many different versions of socialism and ideals ,but the GOP is adamant about not using tax payers money for gov;t services because it doesn't work, but they drool over the military and how awesome it is.

As a disabled vet I have nothing bad to say about our military.

Just the way assh@les we keep electing are using us for corporate agendas.

Time to wrest control of our government from the damn plutocrats.
