Haha! At 1-3 hours per image, I think not! At least, not any time soon.

So far I've covered 10:

I'm beginning to run out of forums I'm interested in doing, the rest would be more of a 'work feeling' than a 'fun feeling' in making them.

I have some good ideas for:

~ Area 51
~ Weaponry
~ Deepwater Disaster
~ Really Above Top Secret
~ Global Meltdown

~ Disaster Conspiracies

Which gives us 19 more at about 45 hours or so of work. So it will be some time.

The other forums I'm not interested in making an image for.

In the mean time, to keep motivation up, I wouldn't mind people choosing on which one of those in the list that I should do next

I'll be starting to look at these in a bit.

But just a reminded.

Anything in the middle will likely never be seen.
Keep in mind that the body of the website will mostly cover what's in the middle, with the exception of any minor transparent areas -- as seen on the new site and forum home pages.

Also, some of these have a visual complexity that will make compression down to a reasonable filed sized JPEG difficult. While the off the grid image is fantastic (for example), it's going to be 180k even at a setting of 10% JPEG quality -- mostly because of the complexity of the stars.


And this one:

I can get to 72k, at 25% quality because of the lack of complexity. But that great iconic image would be lost in the middle.

Hopefully these are layered Photoshop files, and you can move the elements around, and simplify the backgrounds.


A quick rough modification shows what I mean...

And it's only 82k in file size.

Smaller is always better. I'd like to average 80k for the background, but for really good ones, we can go up to 120k.

Anything larger risks a "page load" penalty from Google search. So while desktop users with fast connections may have no issues with a 250k background, Google still does.

Alright. I'll upload edited photos of each one I've done so far and have a "high" quality and low quality version. I'll post them here as thumbnails.

The high quality ones will be for you to compress yourself if you feel they are "really good ones". The low quality will all be 80kb or under

Yep, Zbrush is really fun and not too difficult when you get the basics down, and I used Keyshot to get a nice final image, then Photoshop to touch things up or paint extra in. The others are just drawings on a tablet.
