It is estimated that in the past 100 years, governments under the banner of atheistic communism have caused the death of somewhere between 40,472,000 to 259,432,000 human lives:
A slightly differing opinion is Dr. R. J. Rummel, professor emeritus of political science at the University of Hawaii, is the scholar who first coined the term democide (death by government). Dr. R. J. Rummel's mid estimate regarding the loss of life due to communism is that communism caused the death of approximately 110,286,000 people between 1917 and 1987.

I believe he is speaking about communism as those are atheist governments?
Now, we do know that many many were killed under communist governments, but I would probably not agree that they targeted Christians alone - I think they simply targeted anyone who disagreed with their policies in many cases with those exceptions where the governments themselves had made Christianity illegal, which some communist governments have. But I think they made a whole lot of other things illegal too - so there is that.

· I see. I'm a firm believer that anyone who trusts his instincts is trusting God. So if you're constantly learning and your instincts are telling you something, faith in your instincts is faith in God. Instinct is almost separate from free will. Instinct is from God, given to us by God. So if you feel it go with it.
· Please just take my advice on one thing. Don't fear being wrong, if you learn something you thought was true isn't, rejoice because you have learned the truth, don't get confused and lose faith. It just means you learned, not that your not smart or anything bad. I like to try and prove myself wrong sometimes.

Please don't feel the need to offer me your advice, I don't tend to take it from people who think they see dodo's walking around. I'm fairly sure you prove yourself wrong often, but not so sure you realise it.

The missing link hasn't even been found. The fossil record is but a very small blink into history...it can show insight into some things, but will ever only be a puzzle with most pieces missing.

The old try and true no Scotsman argument rises it's head
They were not true atheist because they killed people, sounds like a cop out
Communism by its very definition is atheism, killing people by atheist definition is no different than putting misbehaving animals down
You had better work harder on your atheistic apologetics than that Prez
