I don't see a good source here nor obvious or provable wrongdoing.

Because it is a Partisan Hyperbolic website, "don't believe the hype".

Screwing non-profits is pretty low. It's hard to defend that.

Many non profits are profit for the officers and a little for the cause.

There's nothing to see here but a made up accusations to sink someone. I don't think there were any wrong doings here.

Just like Cruz's citizenship and all those weird stories about Carson and Obama's Citizenship and Benghazi and Binders full of women and McCAin not being a "Good" representation of a Prisoner of War etc. Just mindless, mudslinging.

Real issues like Big Banks funding Hillary and Trumps Immigration policies and Cruz's stance on LGBT Rights and Rubio's economic policies. That's what we need more of.

I'm pretty sure this has been posted a couple times already and if I recall correctly the amount they were paid was certainly not very exorbitant and probably lower than private industry or what a consultant would charge.

Ah yes it has been posted Here

This part is especially troubling:

Her [Mrs. Sanders] departure was a source of controversy. She reportedly overstated pledged contributions to the school in order to secure a loan from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington. The diocese lost between $1.5 million and $2 million on the deal, according to local reports.

Click on all of the 'red' links in the article. It will take you to all of the sites that were used to compile this. All in all to me this is actually disappointing.

I know what an external source is, I learned all about them is basic high school and college English courses.

I have yet to find anything regarding these "six-figure sums that were given to family/friends." I cannot find it anywhere.

Anyways, as I said - I'm not trying to derail your thread. Continue using whatever source material you please, I'm just simply stating (and anyone who has taken these classes would hopefully know), this isn't that credible, homie.

Using source A as a material for source B, using source B as material for source C, and using source C as material for source A. It's called circular logic/reasoning - and believe me - I royally effed up when it came to using a book that I thought at the time to be credible as my source, only to find out the only information from my book's source was - from my book, or at least I couldn't find the source material on the Internet. I learned that one the hard way.

And the college-scandal has already... how does it go again, "beating a dead horse?" You know what I find really, really funny here...

Using a 47-page book as a source, yet not bothering to point out within the 47 pages where it was exactly said. How does this one go again, "burden of proof lies on those making the claim?"

Also, it comes out to be $30k a year... oh my, the horror! You can buy half a house in two years on that! The corruption, oh my!

This is just giving the Sanders campaign more publicity... I just believe that these "sources," are hyperbolized and more interested in spin than reporting objectivism, but hey - that's American media for you.

I know most politicians are corrupt and take advantage of their position...but I had figured Sanders was different in that respect.
I wasn't going to vote for him before this, but I respect him a lot less, if this is true.
The fact that his campaign refuses to comment on this is also troubling.

Jane O'Meara Sanders, his second wife for the past 20 years, is president of Burlington College. They have four adult children. Jane Sanders received $91,020 between 2002 and 2004 for "consultation" and to negotiate the purchase of television and radio time-slots for Sanders' advertisements, according to records and interviews. Approximately $61,000 of that was "pass-through" money that was used to pay media outlets for advertising time, Jane O'Meara Sanders said in an interview. The rest, about $30,000, she kept as payment for her services, she said. Carina Driscoll, daughter to Jane O'Meara Sanders and Bernie's stepdaughter, who had been a member of Burlington City Council, picked up $65,002 in "wages" between 2000 and 2004, campaign records show. She had been her stepfather's campaign manager in 2000, his fundraiser and office manager in 2003; she was his database manager in 2004.

I'm having a hard time seeing where this "six-figure," statement is coming from. If you add up the total of personal gains from his wife and daughter, it is still underneath six-figures.

This thread should be closed, it's already been posted (search function works fine).

Forget it.

They are all ready off on a self repeating cycle of star baiting , partasian back slapping and trump worship to bother with a little thing like that

I see the use of nonsense sources is proliferating. Oh... wait... you're a repeat offender... you were the one with the bogus Trump poll thread. Do you even remember what credibility looks like? Probably not.

Obviously this has been ignored by the media for a while...since the media pretty much ignored Sanders throughout the election.
Hillary is feeling threatened by him in New Hampshire and Iowa now...combined with the fact that his donations are now close to hers.

This is why it's coming out now. The Clinton smear machine just set it's sites on Sanders.

This obviously wasn't leaked by Trump or the Republicans, as they still don't consider Sanders any kind of a threat. They're focused on Hillary...and, if anything, would want to help Sanders against her, at this point.

The reason the media hasn’t touched it is because there seems to be no reliable source.
If the media did they could get sued for slander if they cant back it up.

I would treat this claim dubiously and at best a as a Clinton mudslinging at her main opponent.
In fact I would ignore any mud slinging done by Hillary and treat everything that comes out that vile womens mouth as a lie.

Is his family not American citizens?

What would you do? You wouldn't hire family members if you were starting an organization from limited funds? If anything, he's emulating the American entrepreneurial work ethic to a tee.

I just found this little gem, too:

The news that House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-TX, paid his wife and daughter $473,801 as campaign staff members was just the beginning.

(From the source used in the other thread talking just about this

House Majority Leader... *yawn*

Bernie Sanders wife receives $30k a year and his daughter about $65k?

"The horror! The hipocritical bastards! Damn socialists!"

Matafuchs work for the Hillary Campaign?

If not, I would say it's just another thread where the OP came across a story that they want to be earth-shattering, but forgot to actually check the story out before wasting our time with wishful thinking and bull#.

So Dems were using the exact same issue to smear Republican Tom DeLay...but chose to ignore this.

The ethics of lawmakers paying their families jumped into the spotlight on Capitol Hill last week, following reports that House Majority Leader Tom DeLay of Texas had paid his wife and daughter more than $500,000 for campaign-related work.

Jim Barrett, chairman of the Vermont Republican Party, used Sanders' family payments to highlight what he said is Democratic "hypocrisy" for fiercely attacking DeLay. "It's the standard hypocrisy from the left," Barrett said. "When a Republican does it, it's inappropriate and front page news. But now it turns out, our own Bernie Sanders has been doing it for a long time."

He added: "If it's corruption when Tom DeLay does it, then it's corruption when Bernie Sanders does it."

Jon Copans, executive director of the state Democratic Party, declined to comment.

But Democratic groups are targeting DeLay for defeat in his 2006 election.
