Not sure about your source about syphillis and cows. That's a 19th century myth. The idea was in the 1800s that people were afraid of catching syphillis through cow's milk. The scare was they were claiming that if milk maids had syphillis sores on their hands that alledgedly syphillis would get on a cow's utters and infect the milk.

It was a myth. There has never been any evidence proving that milk maids with syphillis could pass the syphillis to cows.

In nature, other than human beings, the only animals to naturally pass syphillis aren't even mammals. But rather marsupials. Both koala bears and opposums have syphillis within their population.

It was believed that Native Americans somehow got syphillis through opposum hunting. Europe didn't have any cases of syphillis until after Columbus, contact with Native Americans. From America syphillis spread to Europe.

Has nothing to do with cows. Europe had cows for thousands of years and no syphillis.

Native Americans had no cows, but had opposums, and syphillis existed among the Native American population.

Syphillis has nothing to do with cows at all.

And with regards to monkeys and chimps, syphillis does not exist in monkeys and chimps. In fact, it is IMPOSSIBLE to do animal research with syphillis on Old World monkeys or chinpanzees.

If you inject a chimpanzee with syphillis, they die instantly. Chimps have zero immunity to syphillis.

Just like if you inject a human with chimp herpes B, the human dies instantly. No immunity. But chimps don't die of herpes.

STIs, animals and humans are a tricky topic. One animals STI can kill another animal instantly, even if the STI doesn't kill the original the host species.
