Leviticus 26:36"'As for those of you who are left, I will make their hearts so fearful in the lands of their enemies that the sound of a windblown leaf will put them to flight. They will run as though fleeing from the sword, and they will fall, even though no one is pursuing them."

This is what is happening to those who live in fear.

ok... well, if her own family is willing to throw her under the bus, what does that tell you?
What about the "disturbing profiles" and the ISIS related materials?

Reldra, I like you a lot, however I see it differently than you it's as simple as that, about this specific topic.

And to the person claiming Jesus died a martyr; the imaginary fake guy who died for another religion I am not very fond of, but that Is still more redeemable than Islam as a whole, you really think she was speaking about dying on a crucifix for the sins of man? Get real, if a Muslim says they wish to die a martyr they are specifically talking in the context of jihad.

You cannot have it both ways, either we thwart radicalized people's and their efforts or we don't, sitting here in this #ing shrodingers cat scenerio constantly is not liberalism, it's willful ignorance.

More insanity in France as police investigate a suspected radical and find interesting items. A fake pregnancy belly lined with aluminum foil. that is a new one, I assume that defeats x-ray machines?

The woman, 23, who has not yet been identified, was arrested with her husband in Montpellier, in the south of France.

Authorities arrested the couple after neighbours said the woman showed signs of becoming radicalised.

In a search of their home police agents found a prosthetic belly inside which was covered in tin foil.

Investigators have also said the woman told relatives that she wanted to "die a martyr."

French counter-terrorism agents said the couple had “disturbing profiles,” according to the French media reports.

Officers searching their home allegedly confiscated material related to al-Qaeda and Islamic State (ISIS), also known as Daesh.

However, the woman claimed she bought the fake pregnancy bump on the internet so she could shoplift items from the department stores without raising alarm.

It comes as France continues to be on high alert following the Paris terror attacks on November 13 which killed 130 people. ISIS claimed responsibility for the massacre.

It's amazing, but it appears some people are reading a different article.

I clearly see she wanted to die a martyr, had terrorist propaganda, and a disturbing profile. Either some others aren't seeing the same article or they would rather the police only detain them when they're on the way to detonate explosives.

I'm not saying they're immediately guilty, but there is no way in hell anybody can convince me the situation doesn't merit taking them in for questioning.

That some people have families (especially the extended family) that are jerks? This issue often comes up during the holidays.

That "disturbing profile" thing was as clear as mud. "ISIS related materials"...what sort? I know I looked at a few vids I probably shouldn't have since someone posted them as an example of ISIS videos on here. It could be that. Could be a lot of things.

You jump to specifics when all there is is non specific stuff.

With how the situation is in Paris now, they weren't just, say, asked to come in and chat. They were fully arrested. I am doubting a warrant was involved.

Define "radicalized", for me. Is it someone who is simply the target of hearsay and paranoia? The circumstances in this case certainly appear suspicious, but the authorities have not found any explosives, illegal weaponry, or any form of detailed plot/threat.

If you really want to prosecute her based on suspicious circumstances, then I say you're the Radical here. What you're talking about is lawlessness.

-How do you intend to 'thwart' people arrested for non specific reasons?

-Jesus is an historical figure. Scholars wrote down what happened. I am not sure he is the son of God, but he did live and was crucified.

-Are they now? Your lifelong study of Islam tells you that is 100% the case and that they mean to do it when they say it?

Westboro Baptist church says a lot of things. They picket. They have a website. Do they actually do anything? No. That is why they aren't arrested.

I bet they have a whole bunch of 'weird' materials too.

YEP. And I can't believe some people here are going along with this

Mob rule is a scary prospect...

People should THINK before they type based on no evidence.

There is a storm coming...people on mass are out sharpening their pitch forks...

Yes. And when I see it HERE of all places, it is scary. People forget the things they talk about all the time. Freedom of speech, government intrusion, arrests without warrants, and even outright killing people for things they MAY have said.

It is astoundingly ironic.

People are routinely arrested when suspected of a crime. Not sure how it works in France, but without arrest you are not read your rights. In this case if they asked them to come in for questioning and they decline, which we don't know, I think it's justified they are arrested for questioning.

If they were to be charged with a crime based only on the evidence we have then I would disagree with those charges, but I think it merits investigation.

If a right wing christian was found to have information about planned parenthood terrorism and had expressed a desire to die a martyr I want them taken in too.

People showing signs of extreme views and a desire to die should not be ignored regardless of their flavor of extremism.

I think that prosthetic stomach was for exactly what she said-shoplifting.
Lining carrier bags with foil is a trick shoplifters having been using for years to avoid setting off alarms.

I agree it explains the aluminim foil.

Yeah I think half the people here think it somehow made the stomach a suicide vest!

Yeah they have nothing to hold these people on and need to release them. Having material isn't a crime but then again I guess they can arrest her for shop lifting is that a fine or something in france?
