Incidentally I have educated myself about Islam. I have friends who are muslims, I also domt think for one moment the majority of muslims want to kill people. I am sure you are a lovely kind person who wants to live in peace, which is what I think the majority of normal people want. However, things like this are becoming more common and so it is going to make people wary, thats human nature.

I think a lot of the problems of extremism are coming from Countries where a stricter form of Islam is adhered to and I understand that there are more muslims than any other faith who have been killed.

I also dont believe everything in the West is perfect, far from it, society in general is becoming sicket and I feel this is how extreme Islam is promoted. All the sexualisation,drugs, alcohol, pornography is all getting out of hand. Most people are good people and unforunately it is the minority eho spoil it for evryone. I think there are lessons to be learned from all sides. I think women should be given the power in all countries fot once and see if they do any better at sorting the world out a reply to: Kapusta

We care about Islamic extremism, because we are at war with it. So join us and stop arguing or quietly sit and do nothing, and anxiouswens good job addressing him as peaceful, you must always do that inorder to have a conversation because immediately Islamic people will say,"well they are not representive of true Muslims!" So I always preface any dialogue with," I know you are the most peacful Islamic person around" that way we can actually have a beneficial conversation.

I fight it everday through educating Muslims and youth.
I know of good Muslims who have died fighting extremism as well.

Compared to the acts of radical Muslims, two homeless men in Rome trying to attack a Police officer and accomplishing nothing is unbelievably meaningless.

I know it was a bit of hyperbole but don't move to a desert island because survival there is impossible for modern humans. I know shows like survivor and stuff make it seem possible, but they are lies; modern humans with no survival training should never do this.

Being afraid of drugs and pornography, and calling for their removal from society is exactly what radical Muslims are calling for. Some of your comments are right in line with their radical ways of thinking. Extremism comes in many forms and is always dangerous. Don't confuse the dangers of extremism with radicals using Islam as a tool for extremism.

While I am glad that as a Moderate Muslim you believe in western rational and peace, but your reaction to the OP and other anti-Islamic commits are part of my point that there needs to be a reform to Islam from the Moderate world to hijack the religion back. If you could show us how you read the holy words of your religion and why you don't condone the actions of radicals, for I know it would go a long way in truly elucidating people in threads like this.

Telling people to go do their own research won't work either, for people already know where to find their flavor of media on the internet and will find all the biased research they need to try and prove you wrong.

Keep fighting against bigotry and know that others are with you.

I joined the army during a time of war and fought idiots who like to blow themselves up, and blow you up,and cut off heads. I refuse to go down the list with you, but you have said before you think there is a conspiracy regarding Islamic extremism and that in some way it is not real, you are wrong. My good man ty for the noble words. But some points i would like to make respectfully of course.

1.5 billion Muslims in the world. A very small percentage of that is extremsits.

Let last creditable poll i read said something to the effect of their are roughly 30000 extremist fighting .

The problem is that the media has given Extremisim the upper hand in a sens .

Islam hasn't been hijacked yet .... But we need to figure out a solution in dealing with extremism.

The true foundation of Islam doesn't need reform because the true foundation was set forth by god.

Keep your head up lad, you know you are helping and that's what matters. Its going to get harder for you before it gets easier, more and more kids are going to grow towards extremism before things get better, but at least you know in yourself you are addressing the problem.

People are scared and worried, and rightly so, so you will be lumped in as 'Just a Muslim', and to many that means a valid target for their hate and worry. Telling them you are fighting extremism will not be important to most, when you are in fear its just easier to paint everyone with the same brush.

I wish you success and hopefully one day people just think of Islam as blokes with beards, just another religion again.

I think some real debate could take place if words like Islamaphobe werent thrown out in completely inappropriate context and if muslims began to realise that to be offended is what makes us human first and foremost. I have been offended recently that the Cinemas in the UK refused to play The Lords Prayer because it might offend. The UK is a Christian Country our Queen resides over the Prodestant Church. I was then even more offended when a Judge proclaimed we are no longer a Christian Country althougj we have been for hundreds of years.

I dont go to Church but I do pray and follow the ten commandments in line with my church school education and Sunday school. I was even more offended when I found out just a couple of weeks ago that although my child has learned about Muslims, Sikhs and Hindus at school he didnt know what the Lords Prayer was!! I also get offended when white British girls are seen as easy sexually. There may be some but there are a lot like myself who aren't.

See we can all get offended but some of us dont shout as loud as others about it. Its about time we did start talking about it!a reply to: TechniXcality
