Trump because he wants to better secure America by vetting refugees that may be potential terrorists.

Did Trump say he wanted to vet refugees? I though he said he would prevent anyone of a specific religion from coming to the country.

BTW I am for vetting refugees, but I happen to like other candidates that are for vetting.

I guess since the White House isn't in foreclosure for Trump to buy, he just decided to jump into the race and secure it that way.

Career politician or a career businessman who's business included buying politicians.

I guess he just decided to cut out the middleman and become the politician himself.

And people honestly think he's wealthy enough to not be influenced by billionaires? Trump isn't THAT wealthy.

So it's intolerant to not tolerate intolerant people? (try saying that five times fast!)

That's one circular argument if I've ever heard it.

You can think for yourself all you want, but treating entire groups of people with suspicion and prejudice isn't right. You'll never be able to convince me otherwise. We don't own slaves anymore, and we don't lynch people. We don't have segregated bathrooms and water fountains. If America has come as far as it claims, its time for her people to prove it.

And you'll never convince me otherwise to have respect for people who want to chop my head off!

Yea, he said stop them all while the vetting process gets fixed and then they can come in once the system is fixed...so to prevent the possibility of these extremists from slipping through while decent Muslims or for-real refugees are entering the country. Not a bad idea at all.

You realize you're more likely to be struck by lightning than have that happen, right? We should be distributing protective helmets from lightning, and banning any kind of structure that encourages lightning strikes...

political identities.
Emphasizing the importance of these identities ensures that most of the vote will be split down the middle making most races fairly close, thus easy as pie to rig if necessary.

A quick look at the active topics on ATS over the past 12 hours shows "Donal Trump" in the thread title 15 times, and Trump or his policies as the dominant subject matter another 12 times. He certainly has your attention, doesn't he? Regardless of what I think about him and his apparent policies, his strategy is brilliant; you're talking about him, a lot. What else could a hopeful politician wish for?

I said "apparent policies" didn't I? Yeah, I did.

I think he's of the mind now of, "screw-it, I'm leading the polls." If he wasn't consistently leading the polls, the nonsense coming out of his mouth would be very different.

Never forget Trump's most bombastic, and reasonably provable claim, he's an expert deal-maker. I firmly believe he's saying whatever he believes is necessary to "make a deal" with the populace to become the Republican nominee. The GOP is renouncing his crap left and right, but the audience cheers and applauds.

Once he gets his nomination, a new "deal" will be offered with more refined rhetoric in order to convince the populace.

That's the way he thinks. That's they way he's running the campaign. That's why he says what he says. And that's why he's got everyone talking about him: it's free advertising.

Trump is Winston Zeddemore: "If there's a steady paycheck in it, I'll believe whatever you want." Right now, he thinks the populace wants him to believe some epic crazy. Who's fault is that?

Edit to add something I forgot...

And with Trump being compared to Nazis, this is showing up in news stories about him all over the web today:

Criticism from the press is what fuels his base.

Ironic that the Left supporters on ATS are falling right into the same trap the left media is.

Go ahead and label him a Nazi. Piss off his supporters even more. Get even more shrill in your criticisms..you drive even more into his camp.

Simply put, he's not a Nazi. He thinks outside the box and Lord knows we need someone other than same old same old.

Risks in electing trump...hmm, sure.
Trouble is there's 'risks' in anyone else out there running. Just ask those that voted for Obama. (Obama being the subject the left avoids like the plague...
)

It's, in fact Obama and his policies/results that have fueled this "I'm angry and I'm not putting up with it anymore!" rhetoric's support.

Trump may, in fact be the right man at the right time. He may not.

It was pointed out today that Bush had spent 25 million on ads. Trump? 300,000...that's it.

So thank you OP you've just added to his lead....

What's kind of freaky/weird is that the more people scream he has Nazi-like tendencies, the more people flock to him.

Generally, it's not a good thing to associate yourself with Nazism, and Trump now has the endorsement of Stormfront and a whole slew of racist activist groups.

I guess it's been so long since WWII people forget that the Nazi's tried to wipe out an entire race of people? It didn't start with gas chambers at first, either...

Frankly, I won't vote for someone who has the KKK, Stormfront, ect vouching for him.

Free speech has always been there.

Trump is just a crass buffoon who attracts people who are sick of not being able to say things without the stain of social stigma. Which I get....but im not willing to burn the house down

Not a fan of politicans. Also not a fan of "Hollywood". Or slimey businessmen. Trump is all 3 rolled into one.

When politics and ideas are on the verge of defeat they become more and more extreme. I said it this other day and I'll repeat it, I have no doubt that Trump will lose the election. The Republicans are going to use every trick in the book to not make him their nomination and even if he somehow gets it they've threatened to run someone against him to split the vote and make sure he loses.

Then, even if Trump made it to the general he will not win. The whole reason faithless electors are legal is to ensure that regardless of the vote we don't elect someone like him. It might cause mass unrest as the peoples vote gets overturned but I promise you he won't win. In fact, if it gets to that point I doubt we'll ever even know the electoral college went against the popular vote because the media won't report exit polls that have Trump winning anywhere.

What bothers me more than his candidacy is that people think his rhetoric makes for good ideas.

He's definitely using the attention to his advantage, as would any other candidate lucky enough to get that degree of coverage. Nothing wrong with that.

As for his statements, I think he means what he says. Like him or hate him, he seems sincere, and I have a pretty good BS detector.

I have to say, the attention did amuse me a couple of days ago. Watching some news, because nothing else was on, and I wanted to see what updates, if any, were discussed for the Sb case, and happened to catch some of Megyn Kelly. She was close to having a meltdown because of Trump getting so much media attention. That was, I have to say, fun to watch! I have little to no respect for her as a media person. Unexpected entertainment there!

Trump hasn't spent a single dollar of his own money on his campaign since June. It has come 100% from donors.

Yes I am sure about that.

Keep reading your link and the provisions within because it describes in what instances and defines classes.

He can not exclude people on the basis of their faith.
^snip^

It isn't about faith, per se. From the link -

(3) Security and related grounds (A) In generalAny alien who a consular officer or the Attorney General knows, or has reasonable ground to believe, seeks to enter the United States to engage solely, principally, or incidentally in— (i) any activity (I) to violate any law of the United States relating to espionage or sabotage or (II) to violate or evade any law prohibiting the export from the United States of goods, technology, or sensitive information, (ii) any other unlawful activity, or (iii) any activity a purpose of which is the opposition to, or the control or overthrow of, the Government of the United States by force, violence, or other unlawful means, is inadmissible.

That applies easily to any and all that want sharia law over United States law. Add in the passages about terrorism and about those violating the religious freedom of others, and, oh, yes, he can legally do it.

She tried in the one debate. That's where she lost all respect, in my eyes. That was so badly handled, it could be used as a "what not to do" for students of the media.

I didn't plan to watch her, but when that started, I couldn't turn it off! Way too much fun!

Yes I said retaliations. The current PC crowd uses some of the same tactics they originally complained about. If you run afoul of these groups you are demonized, ostracized and harassed until you copulate or are legaly forced.

And then the anti-PC people are just using the same tactics that the PC people are using that they got from the anti-PC people...

And around and around it goes.

Just my point.

we need to find a way to break the cycle.
