You guys thinking that they're going to take away guns really need relax and take a Xanax or something. There is no way that will happen. Not in this country...

If anything legislation may be passed to make it a pain for people who want to obtain guns and ammunition legally, which won't work because the criminals will get them the same way they have been, and the guns used in the San Bernardino attacks were purchased legally.

According to the second,9th, and 14th amendments that ALL mean the same thing. Yeah they are.

According to the others. People have the RIGHT to due process, and a crimes be proven in a courts of law.

What the state. What the mob don't have the power to do.

Is to try to hold the a whole group 'accountable' for a crime that's never been proven in a court of law.

Yup, that's what we do in the civilised world. When a madman with a gun enters our house, we try to get away as soon as possible. We run like hell, whilst grabbing our kids on our way out. We then call the police. And that's it.

You see...people don't (for the most part) purchase weapons legally with the intent to kill another person illegally. Guns are purchased legally for self-defense (as noted above), target practice, hunting, etc. Guns obtained illegally are the vast majority used in criminal activity.

People buy a gun for a very simple reason: to kill somebody or at least hurt somebody severely. Nations that allow their citizens weapons for "self defense" in fact give a person the right to be judge, jury and executioner, all in the blink of an eye. In my part of the world we have police, judges and the law instead. Slow, often fails, but in effect - as the statistics show - we end up with far less deaths than in the US. Go figure.

Once you have a person that has decided they are going to break the law, lets say...to kill another person. They have no problem obtaining a gun illegally. The statement that if you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns is basically true. Someone intent on a crime or a killing has no problem breaking the law to execute that action.

Now, I don't know how your life went so far, but I never managed to make enemies that are willing to kill me. Even if I did, they would not be able to obtain a gun easily. And if they DID get hold of a gun, it would stick out like a sore thumb if they had it with them, probably some citizen would call the police to report this. And if I saw them coming, I'd run like hell, you bet, and call the cops myself. Hey, a guy with a gun .. that's reason enough here for an entire squad to come in and investigate.

But allright, say that some insane person would obtain a gun somehow and was out there to kill me (or anybody else). Well, if I did not see that coming I'd be dead. Indeed. It happens occasionally, even in Europe. You can't do anything against a madman. If you are armed up to your teeth, and are running a marathon in Boston, you'll be dead anyway. Shoganai.

In my part of the world we don't think you can solve that by arming the population. We're not at war, nor are we in the wilderness. If we had less strict laws with regard to weapons, we'd end up where the Americans are now: having a whopping 5 times more deaths than we have. Yeah, 2nd amendmend - shove it up yours, sir. It kills more people than it saves, so out it goes. Good thing we don't have such nonsense here, I say.

Odd it is on a sunday night. If it is financial, people will not be able to make bank runs...

I'm not a lawyer. I'm not a politician.

But I am slightly familiar with the Constitution. You cannot remove peoples rights without due process. Placing a name on a list is not due process.

You also cannot make laws restricting gun ownership because it is a right.

You also cannot criminalize opinions on Muslims, Mizz Lynch.

Our rights are being treated like toilet paper in the White House lav.

You know, I was at a football game this weekend. There was a officer in full tactical gear at the gates along with the usual security checks which was new, and it started me thinking about perpetrating an attack on the game. I thought it would be difficult to sneak something inside the stadium without inside aid, BUT then I thought about attacking the tailgate venue outside which is mass party central ... until I realized we are in a red CCW state during hunting season at a school whose alumni are mainly farmers, ranchers and the like. The parking lots are not posted gun free zones ...

How many of those party wagons are packing?

I'll bet any gunmen might be surprised ...

I might say the same about you. But at least I have gotten my facts straight: there are FIVE TIMES as many deaths caused by guns in the 2nd amendmend loving US as there are in strictly regulated Europe. Now, is that real enough for you?

You don't like guns. Guns are bad. When a bad man comes you grab the kids and run. If they get too heavy you drop them and keep running. Find a policeman with a gun to try to protect you.

Guns are an American problem that may cause us to destroy ourselves in 50 years or so.

WE are more HONEST in reporting.

WE have larger numbers than other countries.

WE have far less homicide per capita/*honesty again* than other countries.


You know without judgement, look at one of the lowest crime ridden countries in the world, Monaco where everyone carries and there is 0 crime rate.

Well the truth comes out, president to talk about Americans no to be afraid of enjoying their Christmas and go on their holiday spending and business as usual.

Ah, but you don't get how terrorists think. They are not there to survive, they are there to make a statement. The more people shoot at each other - the better it is in their book. If your red neck farmers grab their guns and start shooting at people, that's exactly what they want. Hey, that will cause more deaths than the attacker himself (or herself) can possibly kill. See, in such situations people get confused: is that dark guy there a terrorist? He's waving with a gun - let's kill him before he kills me! Gotcha!
