I hope it turns out that there are no fatalities. I'm glad it's over and the guy is alive so that he can go to prison. At this point that is all that matters.

I respectfully disagree, my friend. We need to know why he did this. What was his motivation and what was his goal.

This is very interesting considering he did not kill himself and did not go down fighting.

I agree. They're pretty nice folks, from what I can tell. Let my hubby go when they could've given him a hefty ticket doing 92 on I-25...not the 75 mph part, but down near Fillmore...Just told him to slow down and he was on his way!

Ive lived here since 92 and never had a bad experience with cspd, they have let me go on warnings as well. They dont seem hellbent on handing out tickets like candy. Its the small towns and suburbs like fountain/Widefield where they seem to do that more often.

We almost moved down there. Very happy with our cushy spot up here in the north side. Except some of the rich folks have no clue how to drive. I found the place online and had no clue about the neighborhoods but it is a nice place to live. We looked at a place right there off of Fillmore (or Fontanero, maybe going towards Manitou...The Oasis Apts) but the rent was like $1800 a month!!! Um, no thanks!

Yes, but something else that matters is .....what motivated him to violence against innocent people.

Drugs, off his meds, religion, psychotic or just "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore" type of social/cultural statement.

Purely supposition on my part but I think it was an anti abortion agenda driven event.

Well, it's going to take a bit to get that info. But once they figure it out they'll release it. CSPD seems pretty transparent.

You've just gotta give it to CSPD here..

And ill say it, even our local media! Channel 11 said they chose to turn cameras off at certain points because they did not the severity of coming injuries. They said it is a tough call because people always want to see that stuff but it is horifying for family members of victims involved...

Definitely the right call was made. Nothing worse than people asking for more graphic photos. Sounds like they are still searching with the bomb squad.

6 injured civillians. 5 injured officers. Multiple shootouts. No confirmed fatalities. CSPD will be tight lipped on that for a while i am sure.. Not for too long. I just know with the Halloween shooting they did not confirm anything for quite a bit. Nobody wants headlines like this.

I saw reports of at least one body in the parking lot. A member local to the area was told there were four bodies.

Unfortunately it sounds like this shooter knew his weapon(s). If he's able to shoot 4-5 police officers, he knows his way around the gun he's using. Usually in these situations, the shooter hits victims and maybe ONE police officer, but not 4-5.

If he's shooting at police, it doesn't sound like he wants to go out "suicide by police"...at least not yet.

I have mixed feeling on the issue of abortion, but I think it's a family or individual matter, as far as shooting up a Plan Parenthood clinic goes that's an act of domestic terrorism ,the irony is this guy and others would have gladly taken the life of 11 people for the sake of a zygote, the reasons for abortions are too many, but I am guessing lack of preparedness to raise a child is first among them, I think going to professionals is way better than the bad old days of a coat hanger, most of these extremist is against the use of a condom, or some morning after pill or even basic sex ed, there was never a time in history when someone successfully out law sex , and societies that try to do just that ended up being among the most brutal or massively intrusive on the planet and full of hypocrites to boot ..ergo Saudi Arabia .

I've followed this thread from the start. I didn't have anything to add, so I just read and kept my mouth shut.

I want to thank those that kept me more up to date than news did.

And I can't believe the level of hate from some of the members here. People sure do show their true colors.
