Very much agreed. Im very proud of cspd. I often find myself not defending the police, but they deserve a round of applause.

I agree. They're pretty nice folks, from what I can tell. Let my hubby go when they could've given him a hefty ticket doing 92 on I-25...not the 75 mph part, but down near Fillmore...Just told him to slow down and he was on his way!

Sounds like this may have been a diversion for a bank robbery. Am I hearing that correctly?

All speculation currently.

It would be hard for me to believe that.

I can think of a lot better ways to make a diversion that wouldn't require as much destruction and prison time as this.

He's a nut...Thinks he can "change" or "correct" what may or may not go on at PP.

Anyone else from the Springs just totally impressed with this news conference?? The mayor, the cops, the chief, and even the DA showing up to the scene speaks volumes to me. Glad we chose CO!

Glad it is over. Praying for the victims.

I'm local and that is news to me.

There is a bank right there though...

One officer said they had a bank employee who had been called in to "open the hatch" of the bank. Other officer responded that they had already cut the lock and wouldn't need the employee.

If that comes to be true, it would leave me dumbfounded. I couldn't think of any reason why someone would go to such lengths to cover for a bank robbery. What would be in it for them? A well funded prison commissary account? There's not much motivation there...

People ran into the bank (Chase, I think) when it first happened. That's all I heard. I hope they close King Soopers and let everyone go home.

Hmmm. Where did u hear this? I only heard that ppl ran into the bank for shelter. Maybe they got into the vault for a safe place to wait it out? Idk...Sounds like this was directed only at the PP and had nothing to do with the bank.

I'm watching KKTV CH 11 in the Springs and they're not saying anything about the bank.

Ive lived here since 92 and never had a bad experience with cspd, they have let me go on warnings as well. They dont seem hellbent on handing out tickets like candy. Its the small towns and suburbs like fountain/Widefield where they seem to do that more often.

It would be funny if this man was trying to rob a bank and was dumb enough to run in to the wrong office.....a Planned Parenthood.

That would be ironic considering recent events.

Heard it on the scanner. Said an employee of Chase was at the command center because the police had called for someone to "open the hatch." Have no idea what that means---just repeating what I heard on the live scanner.
