That would pretty certainly be in breach of a treaty and therefore an act of war.
If the Turks were positively taking the initiative in war with Russia, NATO would not back them up. NATO is about mutual defence.

YA got a excellent point. IF turkey wants to play the you cant fly into my airspace then Syria needs to tell them you cant run cargo through their territory. Then tell them that if they do so again they will be wiped out each and every time.

NATO would not do anything so long as its Turkey disobeying a edict from the legit government in syria. It has to be a Attack on TURKEY itself to call a article 5.

Yeah, attack a Turkish convoy in Syria moving weapons to terrorists and it's an "act ofwar". Shoot down a Russian plane and it's quite OK. Some logic Erdogan has.

We are in dire shape when the world has someone like Obama ruling the most powerful country on earth, and we may be on the brink of a World War and Obama does little.
