What an eviro disgrace COP16 was...
50,000 "personnel" flying an average of 9,000 miles each to attend a conference where each leader got to speak for 3 minutes (kudos tho to whoever
"buzzed" Obama for his speaking for eleven full minutes). Add in the ground transportation (more fossil fuels!) and the hotel rooms that had to be
heated/cooled, laundered, meals produced, bottled water needs (hope they recycled!), not to mention the emissions of all those emergency first
responder units that had to be "active" and the COP16 was irony on green steroids.
Here's a thought ...lead by example. Teleconference. Ooops, no photo ops or lavish Parisian dinners that way.
Like Kyoto, political posturing and legacy building by the politic arm of the 1%...so that the 99% can be taxed/regulated/legislated into a uniform
99% living in third world conditions planet wide. Here's a novel concept, why not teleconference ways to raise the standard of living around the
world? Clean coal, natural gas and nuclear power are needed for humanity to survive naturally occurring (is NOT man made) NATURAL disasters. How many
compromised people (in first world countries) die in heat waves or during polar vortexes (snazzy new agey way of saying "cold snap in winter")? Yet
the PTB actually want to assure those situations via draconian emissions standards that will lead to such conditions when the grid is most taxed.
And for the record, why does ANYONE accept the profound inanity of the much touted proclamation of "the science is settled"?
No science is EVER settled and NOT open to exploration or discovery.
