Didn't you read the OP and how it's directed at attacks on Muslim? Did you also note how each response constantly compared Christianity with what's going on with this issue? Did you even note that the OP never directly stated any other example but Muslim direction? You can sit on that bandwagon all you want, but I can read between the lines just fine.


This issue has been going on a LONG time here. It's only now and only directed to the position of people against Muslim people. Hey.. I'm all for pointing the finger at the radical side of things but to ignore the rest is a serious issue. Why not directly include other issues that seem to fish out of the same boat?

I do understand what you're saying but you're missing my point. I'll say it another way.

Christians... those people who actually follow the words of Christ, hence the name, true Christians, do not do this. Radicals do. Those that take the word out of context. Those that follow some twisted form of what they would call Christianity.

The same is true for Muslim and any other religion that have radicals or crazy people. By definition, Christians can not commit such acts and truly call themselves Christian.

I think this gets to the same point as the OP.

It seems this thread has provoked a lot of the sort of thing it was trying to prevent. Emotional triggers are so deep seeded, it's hard for any of us to take a step back and look at everything with the objectivity of what most of us are - a third party.

Step 1 - Calm down.

Step 2 - THEN debate.

I'm on board with a good debate, but certain topics often make us lose ourselves somewhere amidst the arguing. Just be careful you don't let that happen, lest you become more of a problem than a solution in the whole ordeal.

I dunno...seemed pretty clear to me. This site cannot tolerate the advocacy of genocide and nuclear war against a people. It stems from the recent calling for genocide and nuclear war against "muslims" following the attack in Paris.

Whilst I would agree with most of your points, I must admit the homophobia seems to be decreasing rapidly on ATS in the last 12 months. When I first joined ATS homophobia was rampant in the threads, but alas that now seems to be a distant memory. We still have some morons who think its acceptable to be "Hetrosexist", but that now normally means they are fighting their own inner demons rather than having any issue with the "Gays" per se.

However on the whole "religionism", i would concur with your thoughts, I myself have often been dragged into many arguments with fundamentalist on ATS. IMO there seem to be a lot of fundamentalist on this site and they are definitely not from the Muslim members.
