We could defeat terrorism the same way we defeat everything else....

Just change the definition of it in the legal dictionary and wait a few years for people to catch onto the change....

And change the definition again....

This crap has been happening forever, and will keep on happening until we begin to progress beyond our need to be led like livestock.

Argue all day long, folks. Some of you want harsher restrictions on muslims, and some of you argue muslims have the same values all Americans have and should not be looked upon any differently.

My opinion matters not. But, I DO know one thing. Being too open minded right now can be very very dangerous.

Better to be safe than sorry. History will judge later, but who cares? Right now in the here and now, we are facing a war between us and Islamic radicals. Don't get stupid now.

Our so-called leaders cannot do it all. They PANDER, and vacillate, and do stupid stupid things like open our borders to thousands of ME refugees whose culture and ideology is entirely different from ours.

Say "NO"!! Not now! Let the UN to whom we give billions of dollars build state-of-the-art refugee camps somewhere in the ME and feed them until the problems are resolved. DO NOT allow a handful of politicians who will be out of office and living in their ivory towers for the rest of their lives make this decisions for our society.

One last thing....Guard your second amendment as if it were gold. If just a few law abiding level headed smart people had been ccw, the death count would have not reached the level it reached!!

The right of THE PEOPLE to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Now is not the time to get all sappy and stupid. We would all like to have a world of peace and security where we have beat our swords into plowshares, but that is not reality.

You can desire utopia and butterflies and unicorns all day long, but there will always be some ready to cut your pacifist head off while you blissfully chant "can't we all just love one another".

Let's say you work with a very nice Muslim citizen who is being monitored. You go out to a few lunches with this Muslim, maybe a few happy hours after work, maybe you even hang out with him during your smoke breaks.

What's to stop the government from now keeping tabs on you? There are white people who convert to Islam. You okay with having your every move being monitored?

How about everyone now has to have papers to prove they are or are not Muslim? You okay with having to show your "papers" whenever asked?

You have clearly not thought this through.

As per usual, the people are dumb.

You know what ignorance is? Throwing caution and reason to the wind.

If I went to a region where most everybody was purple and green...and all were going about their daily lives pretty much the same...and suddenly there was a catastrophic massacre of a bunch of them while partying and doing what purple and green people do every weekend....and they investigated and found out it was a group of pink people that did it...I would think it perfectly reasonable that all pink people would be looked at through a different lens, especially of pink people had done the same things in other regions many many times.

Do I think all the pink people should be rounded up and thrown out of the region. Probably not. But I would sure keep an eye out on all pink people until the massacres stopped totally and the rest of the pink people loudly and publicly condemned their fellow pink people for the atrocities.

Not according to your OP it doesn't. You want to deport people because they might do something. You want the government to keep tabs on people because they might do something.

Are you a white male? You don't have to answer, the answer is already pretty clear. Most mass shootings are carried about white males. You might go shoot up a mall or a church or a theater one day, guess we better keep tabs on you hadn't we?

You're right of course. Now we need to segregate the Muslim citizens from everyone else to avoid any conversion attempts. Separate work places, separate eating establishments... might as well have separate restrooms and water fountains - you know, just to discourage any possible conversation with teh evil Muslims.

The reply made me crack up - thanks, woke me up a bit and I got work to get done. Sorry, I'm going to have to stop this hypothetic. Muslims don't drink alcohol. If they do, they're not Muslim enough to warrant observation. I'm not okay with being constantly monitored- but then again, I'm not part of a group (Islam) that wants to make the world bow to its fairy (Allah).
