Ummm...this allegory obviously deals with current world events...sort of...

Russia...AKA Vladimir Putin...has tired of the current world order...run primarily through Washington and Beijing...
His recent stepping out in Syria is a friendly reminder to the two supers...that there's another kid on the block...

However where I disagree is in the table lighting scenario...Vladimir Putin is not only an intelligent man...He's also pragmatic...Nuclear war will not start through Putin...

However...I'm not so certain about my own government.................not certain at all...

The rest of your parable has a certain amount of truth in it though...

Ummm...I'm really not so sure you meant to state what you posted...All of the short stories I've ever had the good fortune to read...have dealt primarily with people...some even with political overtones or themes...
Short stories also can be either non-fiction or fiction...they are not limited to word count...or genre...are sometimes allegorical...as is the case here...

My problem with this...not on topic...FUN...that all of you were engaging in at the OP's expense...Is that it was little more than ridicule...even if it was only lobbed in a softball sort of way...

None of you even bothered to address the OP in any substantive way...

What I see...in ALL...of the members that choose to share their work in this forum...is a measure of communication...a reaching out to all of you that read here or both share and write...To me...this is a bridge across the many miles that separate...a bridge across cultures...an attempt to find inclusivity...an attempt to share that unique part of self that ponders...that wonders and seeks to share either discernment or human nature...

Rajas did not deserve this piling on...Rajas only chose to share a short allegorical story with all of you...

I'm ashamed frankly...

You see...perhaps you should extend that thought to all of us that share our short poetical stories here as well...I personally write on every subject under the sun and do so primarily with prose and rhyme...WHY...because I choose to share that part of myself...

If all of you short story writers and readers want those such as I to leave this forum then...please make that sentiment known...I will gladly take my number two soft lead...and go home...

Fair enough, I completely respect your opinion but completely disagree on this occasion. I admire the way you have put your point across though.

Wasted a lot of time on fulltilt a decade ago. Only game I could consistently make monies on was Razz, had a supersystem of my own creation. I think the fire-setter was wise. The pros make monies on lucking out for a streak, and whoring out to advertisers thereafter to more than cover the inevitable losses that mount up. It's a fools game.

Ummm...when I end my diatribes...I try to say..."be well my friend"...In essence I state this because that is how I view you in the core of self...We are individual and unique...gladly so...happily so...and I do not think less of you...

Whenever I try to wrap my thoughts around this human condition that finds each of us trying to determine how we all fit into such a huge family...I am reminded that it is not my single voice alone...not my thoughts or dream alone...but yours...and Raja's and every other voice that ever cried out...wishing to be heard...

I...hear...you...all of you...I welcome you into my heart...into that core that states...perhaps that's all we really ever need...to be heard...and for someone to make an effort to...listen...that's all my friend...I hear you...and I listen...

May all of your days be such that whomever meets you might sense the absolute wonder of that real you that hides there at the core...come out...come out...you are the light...
