Denying your biology is not a mental disorder... right.

Then neither is denying your skin color, your ancestry, thinking you are a horse, or thinking you should be blind...

In other words, I disagree. Transgender is bordering on pathological mental illness. To be consumed with the belief that you are something other than what your biology definitively expresses is a delusion. No matter what you dress as, what body parts you chop off, what plastic surgery you have, and/or what hormones you take you are biologically the gender you were born as.

Whatever happened to the 'reality based' crowd?

And please don't reply with the intersex topic. Those population outliers are more rare than trans, but at least they have a tangible biological foundation for their confusion. That doesn't give them any special rights, though.

So you want to have a discussion about your theory that gender is a binary and static thing based on what the doctor has assigned a person at birth yet you will dismiss any mention of intersex conditions or other non-binary gender conditions?

While we are at it, I would like to discuss my theory on how numbers 1 and 5 are the only numbers in existence but you are not allowed to discuss it with me if you are going to mention numbers 2,3,or 4.

But even still, Gender Dysphroia is Not a Mental Illness

This is true, and something i've brought up numerous times before, the West were the ones that created a Two Gender Binary Concept, Third and Fourth Genders have existed across the world for eons in many different cultures and Celebrated

... many on this thread have accused all who disagree with allowing trans to chose their restroom have been called basically bigots who are living in the past, or (like you have done) been told they must be struggling with issues. Is it possible for someone to disagree with you without being a bigot or struggling with internal conflict?

Depends on the issue, I suppose but generally, no. But I appreciate your asking.

But seriously, I can't help but notice that there's a certain cadre here who get all in a twist the moment anything bumps uglies with their comfort zones. Rather unseeming, I'd say.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a "trans female" vs a gay male?

If I can share a bathroom with a gay man, why can I not do so with a man who looks like a women?

Well there is a difference of course, but I see exactly the point you are making and agree completely.
For all I know the guy standing next to me at the urinal could be gay, so what? We're both having a piss, not trying to hook up.
And what is the deal with all the whining about trans women using female orientated toilets? They have private stalls don't they FFS. The same argument could be applied to banning lesbian women from female toilets.
THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!! THOSE PREDATORY LESBIANS!!!

Absolutely pathetic, and sometimes I wonder which century some ATS members are from lol.

I am a little late to this one and I am not sure if it has been said yet. If you want true gender equality do away with bathroom designations altogether. I mean seriously anyone remember the locker room scene in starship troopers? It seemed to work out just fine for them. I say the sickos need be allowed to reveal themselves so the can be removed from society.

"If the pic is from that time then it is more likely to be black and white than colour due to the accessible tech of the time."

There is the irony right there.

I couldn't really care less who uses the WC as long as they are there to do likewise.

Agreed.
There are a few public toilets I know that I would definitely not use at night if I needed to go, and that is nothing to do with trans people, just I don't fancy being chatted up by some bloke in his fifties wanting a quick one.

Transconfused person we do not care what bathroom you renew your ignorance but it would be cool if you could trade that dress for a pair of pants and start to act like the man you really are. thanks

No kidding people need to get their minds out of the gutters on this one. The transgender woman is going to be putting on make up, fixing her hair, spraying perfume, etc...she is a woman so let her be in the right place, it's unfair. It's still unfair to the transgender woman because she will probably have the occasional other female in the bathroom judge her, but probably less frequently than people think. She would get harassed in the mens room.

I consider your contributions to this and similar threads as some of the most intolerant and close minded on ATS.
Interesting to read such sentiments though, if only to remind me why I like the society and social groups I enjoy in the real world.

Agreed. Where's the threat? Afraid of a pick-up attempt? If I hit up an individual, or vice versa, 'no' does not lead to a beating. Perhaps too many fear the decision they'd make?
Otherwise pee away. Again...who cares?

That is not at ALL what I was implying. I was simply stating that maybe we need to do this to make everyone happy. Not a discriminatory jab. That is obviously in your mindset or you wouldn't reach that conclusion.

Why do you care so much? And hate so much? Maybe you should look into your own insecurities before dissing others.

Probably afraid to admit he could be attracted to some trans women, perhaps like Tara from my thread about her being sent to a male prison then a judge deciding that a female nick was the correct option:

...yeh I'd have a drink with her based solely on looks, although I'm a bit old now seeing as she is only 24 lol
