It could be that your ISP's firewall was blocking something on the site, Nans. There's a lot of reasons one can't reach a site, including spam jamming on the Internet which can make some sites unreachable, low bandwidth, the BBS server having some problems, firewalls, etc, etc. I've had sites apparently "blocked" from surfing that worked just fine with a Unix Lynx surfing.
