my cousin and I was talking about this last night......

personally.....If Putin came to the UK i would vote for him....i see a straight no bull leader

when you put him against any western leader......he makes them look like what they are...liars, frauds and self serving

I see ISIS has been fed by the US government so they can destabilize the area enough ....so they have an excuse to send in troops and take over another area.....

all under the pretense of saving the local people......and the Zionists and have another Muslim state in turmoil..and they get the "patriotic service men and women" throw their lives away...

Putin provided updates on the Russian operation in Syria during a meeting of the Council of CIS Heads of State on Friday (16th October 2015) :

Russian forces show impressive results in Syria, hundreds of terrorists killed

"Attacking the targets previously agreed with the Syrians from the air and sea, our troops have achieved impressive results. They destroyed hundreds of operation centers and ammunition depots, hundreds of terrorists and large numbers of military equipment," the Russian leader said.

He noted that Russia was committed to "forming the broadest coalition to counter extremists and terrorists."

"Russia has repeatedly warned of the danger of the strengthening of radical forces in this region, advocating consistently and at all levels the need to join forces of the international community to confront extremist groups. In this context, we felt it was our duty to take concrete steps in the fight against the so-called Islamic State and other radical groups in Syria," Putin said.

...

"According to various estimates, already between 5,000 and 7,000 descendants from Russia and other CIS countries are fighting on the side of the IS. Of course, we cannot allow that they use today's experience in Syria later in our home," Putin said at the meeting of the Council of CIS heads of state.

HUNDREDS of operations centers? How many operations centers do you suppose there are? It's been two weeks and they still haven't taken Aleppo.

If you don't like reading the BS as you put it then just bypass it, what is your problem? Why don't you write your own posts, as many as you like, on whatever subject you like and if people want to read your posts they will and if they don't they won't. There are many subjects on here that don't rock my boat so I just bypass them, I don't scrutinise who has wrote the posts.

What I have noticed on ATS is that there are quite a few people on here whose sole purpose of commenting isn't to add anything to a topic but to just rip a thread to shreds. I don't really understand the mentality, why not use your energy on contributing something positive?

All those that the US coalition left in place after it's own intervention.
Didn't the US provide any numbers ?

Many critics of American foreign policy believe that the United States has been arming and training terrorists in the Middle East for a long time.

ISIS has numerous predecessor groups that were seeded with jihadis from North Africa, particularly Libya. Webster Tarpley has said that they were present in Syria from the beginning of anti-Assad demonstrations in that country, acting as a classic "counter gang", committing atrocities against the demonstrators that the mainstream media then blamed on Assad. This was done in an effort to accelerate peaceful demonstrations forward into a full blown civil war, fought in large measure by foreign jihadi mercenaries.

Turkey, a full fledged NATO member and (one would think, correctly) ally of the United States, has been a conduit for imported foreign mercenary jihadis and arms, and exported stolen oil that has been used to fund the ISIS military effort. Of course this has been done with the blessing of the United States, which is the ultimate backer of ISIS and the ultimate "state sponsor of terrorism" in this situation.

This well known fact, the role played by Turkey, is almost never mentioned in the mainstream media.

Currently, the more restrained side of America's split personality is pulling back from the orchestrated chaos that has been the dominant theme at the US State Department since NATO started flying air cover for the rag tag army of "rats" that overthrew Muammar Gaddafi.

America's pause for reassessment can be attributed to Vladimir Putin's Russia. The worm started to turn when Putin and Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, managed to force the Americans to abandon plans to bomb Syria at the end of 2013.

Since then, well aware of the pattern that had developed in North Africa, and the ever increasing danger to Syria posed by America's use of foreign religious maniacs as an instrument of policy (aggression?), Russia has dug its heels in and started insisting that the audience has had enough of the one trick pony and the clowns in the center ring at the circus.

A new show has come to town. The fantasists are being shoved aside by the realists and now things are going to be different.

Personally, I'm glad to see it. It doesn't mean that we are finished with war in the region, but I think the war in this part of the world will rationalize itself and not be sold to the public on pretexts anymore, and America will, hopefully, have learned a lesson. Fighting your battles with mercenaries can become a problem if they start to go into business for themselves.

Didn't Machiavelli cover that?

The real question is :
What do they really mean by 'operation center' ? I don't have a clue.

Hundred of targets sounds perfectly legit when you consider all the bombing raids carried by the Russians since the beginning of their intervention.

Congratulations! You've spotted a "weasel word." Russia's claims are meaningless. After two weeks of bombing that have taken back one tiny village. There is almost nothing left standing there and no reason to believe any terrorists were even killed before they withdrew.

And yet you criticize the United States for not following yours. But you are okay with Russia using cluster bombs, right?

I actually spotted a moron for weeks but I just can't keep him silent ... That would be for his own good.
No matter how long I keep it's nose stuck in his own s... he will never stop claiming 'It's OK, it's only processed food'.

You believe whatever you want according to what your current ostrich policy allows you to acknowledge. What you consider at this stage to be unverifiable propagandist claims will sooner or later be part of our reality.
You've swallowed the US lies for years and still consider, as a paradigm, that the Russians are lying because the US told you so ...

Wake up.

I have my eyes fully open. Putin is killing Arabs from the air. The Kremlin's spokespeople are portraying this as some heroic feat, and yet, after criticizing the US for not having made any progress, it has shown no evidence of any progress on its own. Some people have been so conditioned by Russian propaganda that they refuse to ask the critical questions. There are still people clinging to their lies about MH17, even though all of their lies contradicted each other. Now they are applauding as Russia bombs ghost towns into rubble, and even then, the Syrian army can scarcely get its act together to advance. "Operations centers" indeed.

I can't help, but I consider this reaction is nothing but frustration from you towards Russia and the fact that Russia is actually able to do progress where the US failed for so long.

Do you have any other option to suggest than what is currently going on ?
Would you have preferred to see the US mess with its coalition the ME the way they wanted ?

No, I would have preferred for the United States and its allies to let Syria clean its own house. Now Putin is taking advantage of the chaos to stage an air show to distract his countryman from their economic mess.

Massively brilliant post mate.

I am applauding you right now.

Am i the only one who thinks the single amusing factor in all of this terrible bloodshed, is the way the US shills are running around like headless chickens, panicking and scrabbling to find an angle, any angle real or false to rubbish / bemoan the success Russia is having in STARK comparison to the pathetically ineffectual US actions?

They're so transparent.

Is this a little of the transparency Obama promised to get elected?

Probably not.
