True but he only killed Christians.
I linked earlier to CNN saying he only killed Christians after
asking them if they were Christian or not.

He purposely only wounded non Christians
and purposely killed Christians because according to
what I heard on the radio this AM on the news
"he was frustrated by Christians"

Anecdote, really, you call shooting Christians in the head because you're frustrated with Christianity an anecdote and letting live everyone who says they are not a Christian and only shooting them in the knee.

Really quite a little anecdote there isn't it.

While no one has said what the shooter did was good.
Not one of you besides me said it was horrid and the
direct result of all the anti-religious rhetoric
that is being spread around the country.

I made a lot of people angry today,
because I pricked their consciences about the
hatred that they spew toward Christians,
the religious and religion in general
and calling it tolerance.

No you make people mad because you lie use hyperbole and strawmen all the time and preech love when you actually show little for anyone but Christians.
Go on tell us how you feel percicuted while wanting to percicute others.

Some victims were shot down indiscriminately, so what you're claiming is not true.

You only hurt your own cause by constantly embellishing the truth to fit your agenda.

It does seem like you're unable to stop....

I'm not angry at you in the least. In fact I feel you are to be pitied because of your hatred of those that disagree with your
dogma and express it. In turn it prompts you to into obsessive/compulsive hateful rhetoric, as a defense mechanism to protect your ideology and belief system.

In the field of psychology you might be diagnosed with OCD with paranoid delusions and complicated by a Martyrdom complex.

You don't know the definition of the word anecdote, do you?

Considering I wasn't even talking about that shooting until you forcibly put the words in my mouth, I shouldn't have to say anything about what I think about that situation.

I told you why you made me angry. Though, I'm not surprised that you ignored it and substituted your own narrative instead. It's what you always do.

Theophobe. The irrational fear of things or people religious in nature.

irrational fear of the irrational. like a moebius strip.

Admittedly, an initial definition that will be clarified and evolve by those more knowledgeable than myself.

As there are many examples of this phenomena I will cite but a couple of the more base and obvious ones and let the thread evolve where it may.

The first one I'd cite is in the U.S., it is the redefining of the "separation of Church and State".

That requires no further explanation and speaks for itself. It is the signal example of governmental Theophobic mentality. After all, government brooks no competition in Deity level power over individuals.

our government believes in allowing the people to represent themselves through a trickle effect. a theocracy is by definition a monarchy.

Well, good try.

I guess I really got to you.

As a retired Psychology Professor, I hate to disagree.

But I see extreme denial at work with those who refuse to see
that the hateful rhetoric:
saying that all religion should be extinguished
for the good of the world
is actually intolerant hate speech.

Seen clearly in the community college shooting
where the shooter carried out the unconscious
and collective desires of those who want to
see all religion extinguished.

Interesting, not one of the anti-religonists
who have responded to my posts
even are willing to acknowledge that the
shooter only killed Christians
after asking who was a Christian and who
wasn't.
Hmmmm.
Or even condemned what the shooter did
at all. Only one person even said that
they didn't agree with the shooter, no condemnation,
just didn't agree.
Hmmmmm.
No condemnation equals tacit
albeit unconscious support.

Could this "little incident"
this brush off worth "anecdote"
prove my contention that
the hateful anti-Christian
and anti-Religion rhetoric
that is so common on ATS
and in the media, have
actually caused this massacre?
The intolerant rhetoric of the
anti-religion crowd
caused this massacre.
That is my contention.

Too bad this reality has hurt
so many of your feelings.

Wow, you're really in a mood today, huh!

Maybe if so many extremist christians weren't calling attention to themselves, refusing to do their jobs, spewing ignorant 'condemnation', running for president, threatening to start a bigger war, and displacing millions of people already living here, then....um.....

people wouldn't be so fed up!

It's sickening what happened at that school (though I wonder why on earth ANYONE would say "yes" to the question about being a christian after watching the first one's life end; that is baffling to me).

It seems, from my lurking point of view, that this has triggered something going on with you. You've lost the capacity for cohesive thought, and have projected so much evil out onto ATS and its membership that I wonder why you haven't turned tail and fled.....

blatantly accusing ATS and its membership of responsibility for this tragic and bewildering act is way, way, way out of bounds. Way out there.

How is that any different from anyone who questions or disagrees with homosexuality, especially the redefinition of marriage, is persecuting, attacking, or in this case, "homophobic."

Do you wonder why some like myself are anti religion? do you ever think that it is because religion has been the percicutor for so long many have seen through it and just thought enough.
I never had a beef with religion and enjoyed some of it's tales until religious people told me how to act and that I was a bad man and will goto hell for not accepting Jesus.
I was told my uncle would burn in Hell because he was gay, some in my family who used religious reasons to make him feel horrid.
There is no excuse to kill another person except in self defence in my view but religion can twist someones view and I have seen once decent folk get shackled into it.
You are using this tragedy to attempt to tarnish everyone who questions religion, and attempted to make people feel sorry for you and Christians.
I feel sorry for everyone who died not just the Christians but you use this one example which is of a mad man when I could bring up many many many reports of religious people blowing themselves up.

If religion didn't attempt to encroach on my life and in my Government I wouldn't have any problem.
Hey you lot in the states are lucky btw we do not have separation of state and religion...yet.
Fight for that btw dudes.

Oh, I'm not just accusing ATS members,
I'm accusing the media who support the anti-religionists.
I accusing all anti-religionists on all web sites of being responsible
for the idea that the world would be better off without religion and
by extension religious people.

It's hard to get a mirror put up to ones behavior.
That is what I am doing,
putting a mirror up and saying
what you have done is as intolerant and causes
as much evil as those you are condemning for their intolerance;
when your own intolerance has led to violence.

It is quite clear in this "little anecdote" that is
hardly worth mentioning.

Look in the mirror and see what intolerance for
religion and intolerance for religious people
has led to.

Proof of my points.

You think it is all so funny.

Did you roll over laughing when you
found out the shooter at the community college
said "Are you a Christian?" and if they
were shot them in the head.
So funny, isn't it?
Not persecution at all, just good old
extermination of the religious.

I get your point quite clearly.

Shows the reality of where the anti-religionist
crowd is when it comes to real love and tolerance
for others.

So - the first Amendment. Freedom of speech. THAT is your problem.

Hm. Sorry about that. Guess you could line us all up and ask if we are anti-theists who say that the world would be better off without religion (and by extension religious people) and then shoot us in the head if we say yes. If you really wanted to.
I hear there's plenty of work right up your alley in Syria and Iraq.

For people saying there's no hate towards Christians, there sure does seem to be a lot of hate towards a Christian poster. I'm a "whatever" and like to spend my Sundays watching football and nursing hangovers. But I don't hate Christians. Wow.
