The Nobel Peace Prize 2009 was awarded to Barack H. Obama "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".

Another tragedy of this debacle ,is how it has tarnished the value of all those that actually received it and deserved in the past and likely well into the future.

The Nobel Peace Prize has been pretty much a joke since 1973. Of course awarding it to Obama doesn't help one bit to make it any better.

Obama was a great deception!

Nobel Peace Prize means nothing anymore. They gave it to Barry O based on what they thought he might do. There are plenty of candidates who have already done thing that might make them deserving, but they pushed an agenda instead. Very sad.

I know it's easy to jump on the "blame Bush" bandwagon, but seriously, the Iraq war, and Afghanistan were BOTH bipartisan supported.

Democrats had just as much hand in it , and in fact supported it.

The point the OP is making is about Obama's Peace Prize, and how he's done NOTHING to bring peace, and in fact his actions have worsened the whole situation. ISIS is a direct result of him stupidly pulling out of Iraq, despite repeated warnings NOT to do so. Syria is in the state it's in because of the CURRENT administration's actions.

I always thought Obama won the Nobel peace prize for not being George W. Bush.

The Bush administration is the one who started all of this by invading Iraq based on a lie. I know it's easy to blame Obama, I don't think he deserved the Nobel Peace Prize either, but to blame the wars in the Middle East on him is totally naive and ignorant. If we didn't destabilize Iraq in the first place based on inaccurate intelligence, ISIS would have never been created. ISIS lies squarely on the shoulders of the Bush administration, that's the plain truth.

OMFG...REALLY!?!?!?!? Still with the Bush crap???? Exactly when are you die-hards going to realize that Obama is responsible for everything that is currently going on. He is the President and could have done anything...change anything...seven years to fix anything and he has done nothing but make everything worse. I'm sorry you are ashamed that you voted for him...probably twice but get over it and be honest. Geeez!

LOL

Obama earned the title worst president of all time...a total disgrace--incompetent, narcissistic and a pathological liar. I was a lifelong JFK democrat before Obama was elected---now I'm full blown libertarian and despise what the dems under Obama have done to this country.

The Nobel prize is now officially a joke. And it's not funny.

The world is more violent today than ever.

And it's all Obama's fault I take it.

Millions of refugees are fleeing from the middle east to western countries. Iraq is a total lost. Syria has been embroiled in 'civil' war with a death toll is getting close to or surpassed a decade of war in Iraq.

Syria is in the mess it's in right now because of the actions of it's own government and ISIS, not the actions of Obama. Iraq is in the state it's in due in part because of the power vacuum caused from the initial Iraq war in 2003 started by, you guessed it, you good buddy George Bush. It's funny that people blame Obama for withdrawing troops from that region as they believe it caused this mess... yet in another breath complain that Obama bombed Libya. So damned if he does, damned if he doesn't.

Allies aren't too happy with us. He has droned more people than his predecessor. Obama bombed the hell out of Libya

I agree with you there, his drones haven't been all that popular. But it doesn't matter who's in power, this would be happening. Would you be sitting here complaining about drones and Libya being bombed if McCain or Romney was in power Neo? No you wouldn't, because there'd be a big fat R sitting in the whitehouse. This is what this comes to at the end of the day buddy. You couldn't care less about the bombings really. It's all about Obama.

On the domestic front inciting racial tensions. Inciting tensions with the police.

So the fact there are many racially motivated shootings and actions caused by various police officers shouldn't be acknowledged? Because should keep quiet according to you Neo because any mention of racism will incite 'racial tension' and attack your own sensitivities and denial on the matter? I get it. And it's Obama's fault as well.

More people are living in poverty here in the us than ever. Double the national debt to $18 trillion

Who held majority in congress since 2010 Neo? That's right, it's the Republicans. Obama can't do very much when the Republicans control congress. What have the Republicans done to deal with the national debt and poverty since they came into power Neo? That's right, nothing. All they've done is block, prevent, and carry out pointless politically motivated investigations that have amounted to nothing.

But it's all Obama's fault.

Keep up the partisan parade.

Syria is a mess exactly because of the power vacuum Obama left because he put American politics ahead of common sense.

Want to try again?

Republicans held the House. They just got the Senate. Nice try.

But then again the last seven years.

HAS BEEN Obama's Domestic, and Foreign agenda.

He wanted the job. He got the job. and He so epically blew the job, and did NOTHING to earn that Nobel Peace Prize.

Nice to see them finally admit that Obama didn't earn a thing, and that the 'prize' was entirely agenda-driven.

Do you think Obama earned his Nobel Peace Prize ?

Great big nope.

I thought earned meant a person did something first, and in this case that it had to do with peace that had an impact on a sizable portion of mankind.

In the world today, giving the reward for effort before it is done almost assures the effort will not be done. I will be a bit suspicious of this award in the future since it was admitted there was motive behind it's presentation.

Well , he did vote present what times he was there for the voting in Congress ? Doent that count ?

Call me crazy, but when you run for President, AND WIN, you are then taking on everything that office has to offer. Good, AND bad. You now OWN it.

You ran on the premise to be the one to fix it, and you assume full responsibility.
