So am I to blame for Bush's crimes? I didn't vote for the man, nor did I vote for Obama. None of these men speak on behalf of Christians around the world.

I don't want Mexicans coming across the border so why would I want Syrians?
The oil rich gulf states should take in those refugees.

I know he said God told him to go bomb some people.
Not sure what your point is. That he colluded with the globalists? Very possibly. When he said "God" it might have been code for "Kissinger" or the "Bilderbergers at large" or something....

I've come to suspect that whoever gets to sit in the Oval Office doesn't find out until day one, when the file is passed on, that they are nothing but pawns. Yes-men to the Superpowers. Then, on threat of assassination, they do whatever. (One of the reasons I think anyone who aspires to be POTUS is mentally impaired, no matter how much I might agree with their policies or despise everything they stand for.)

Nevertheless, be that as it may, "the buck stops here" is supposedly the Oval Office.
W was an idiot, (still is), or he was a consummate liar. Or both. The USA invaded the Middle East. All the fall-out now should be dumped on HIS doorstep. After all, he was our "head Christian".

And I'll bet those strangers were following the law.

Even when the Israelites came to Egypt, they followed the law and Joseph asked permission to settle, and when they become too fruitful, the Egyptians turned nativist against them prior to Moses reclaiming their freedom and taking them home again.

The Mythical Connection Between Immigrants and Crime

Yeah, I get it.

But there are also criminals coming over (regardless of which nation of origination) and those should be blocked.

MS 13 gang members for example. Identify them and deport.

We have no obligation to deal with the violent criminals of other nations. Not identifying who is entering your nation is insanity. Allowing non-US citizens who have committed violent crimes to stay is also insanity.

Bush did, when he said God told him to invade the Middle East.

Who blamed you personally? I certainly did not...... This thread is talking about how the US is dealing with the fallout.....and it can not be denied that there are people running for POTUS who want to make this a Christian Theocracy. Are you one of them (I don't know)?

You had nothing to do with what happened, fine. Neither did I - though I protested it as best I could....
but the fact remains that people are displaced now, and the USA policies and actions are DIRECTLY partially to blame for it.

All this big government failure all over the world and the best some people can do is blame religions?

Boneheads need to wake up.

The U.N. recently said they're running out of money for the Middle East refugee camps.

Hmmm.

Look, there is no perfect way to filter out criminals in a batch of immigrants. You can certainly try, but there is something called the law of diminishing returns where the more effort you put into something, the less results you see from it. It is an exponential graph as well. So it requires exponentially MORE effort to get exponentially LESS results from your actions.

If the statistics already show that incoming immigrants are largely not criminals, then there really isn't much more you can do.

Anyone who comes over the border illegally is a criminal. That is a criminal offense. Whether they continue to break the law after they get here, they are still living in violation of the law every day. And everything they do in the country that would require ID? Yep, that's another criminal offense.

So, let's get back to this most immigrants are not criminal thing again ...

The OP blamed Christians. Bush didn't have legal authority to do what he did, and the judicial system didn't stop him. He did not speak for Christians. He was a tyrant just like Obama.

Sure there is, give them work Visas ID's, job placement, and the option to apply for US citizenship if that is what they want after working 5 years. Others may just work here for a few years and go home.

What we have with the "Illegal" issue is low wage slavery. It must end. Everyone should be accounted for and accountable to minimum wage and workers laws. Those who are categorized "Illegal" are being exploited and many are exploiting. Time to put an end to it all but there are organizations who's sole existence is to keep the status quo

The thing is, you have to account for their actions while they are here. If they turn out to be criminals... deport them and never let them come back. We are not responsible to take care of the worlds criminal population.

Hey, if you want to actually HELP the immigrants, then by all means, I'm game. I just don't support blindly labeling all or most immigrants as criminals that aren't worth helping.

He said, on national TV, that God told him to do what he ordered. How you can try to separate that fact - the fact that he calls himself a "Christian" - from the actions he ordered, is beyond me.

How is it any different than whoever the leaders of ISIS are saying, "Allah told me to send out teams to kill EVERYBODY who doesn't think like us."

You can't separate this stuff from Religious followers.

I don't see the Pope or the Dalai Lama calling for invasions. Yet they have not been assassinated. As far as I am concerned, THEY are the ones speaking on behalf of the people who actually strive to be "Christ-like."

Guilt by association is a thing that affects ALL of us. I don't want self-styled "Christian" warmongers speaking for our nation, or inciting hatred.
