So i was just wondering if there are any preppers here on ATS who have or are in the midst of preparing for the whole "sept 23rd" end of the world as we know it "thing" lol.

Part of me is like..."what if" and another part is saying that its all nonsense, and total fear porn.

I did however see myself last week eyeing up the big 3-4 gallon bottles of water in the local supermarket, and i did buy one, and im contemplating buying a few more, yanno...just in case, i mean it cant hurt having some spare water lying in a closet right? i mean anything could happen outwith the september scare...like a power cut or something and the water would come in handy, at least that's my rational for buying the water lol.

JUST...IN....CASE, its all crazy though right?...right?

So have any of you prepared specifically for sept?

Yes, I've booked 2 airline tickets - one to Geneva for the 21st September and another to NYC on the 24th.

Sometime during the 23rd I will take my footage of the CERN dimensional gateway opening. Then on the 24th I will fly into New York and head over to NLBS's new head quarters and personally hand the world exclusive footage to Joe.

I will then be rich.........unless thirdphaseofmoon beats me to it.

So yes - fully prepped with all bases covered.

i heard the asteroid comes from planet x and is loaded with ebola!

i forgot the hadron has been down for upgrades. i think they are sending data again though.
i want to visit cern one day

i just read a link about the 23rd. actually it gave dates of the 22-28.
so they cant even pin down the day
it did mention the hadron but also an asteroid and the blood moon

if it happens i hope it happens fast. hopefully the asteroid lands in my house so my family and i dont feel anything

that is not my luck though. if a catastrophic event ever does happen i will be the one left to deal with nuclear winter, loss of my family, and starvation.
thats usually how it works for me

Interesting how the fear of some crisis to be gets everyone to thinking about going out and buying stuff…

Not to derail, but in OK where I reside, same thing happens each spring. Tornado season! Most neighbors stand around in the street drinking cocktails when the sirens go off

I've been through enough end of the world scenario's to where I just don't give a damn any more.
I can't afford to hoard so I didn't and don't. I guess whatever will be will be. LOL!

As with all such scenarios, I have prepared... mentally. For the reality that in such a scenario, I'd likely be one of those who perish.

I have enough water to last a week, some first aid, and some expired canned food lol. That's about it. I can't afford to do more, and don't have the skills or physical health for survivalism. Therefore if TSHTF, and society crumbles, I'll be one of those who perishes. I have made my peace with that possibility.

Peace.

9/11 taught me that weird things can happen on a random Tuesday out of a clear blue sky.

So, although I think break down of society scenarios are extremely unlikely, never say never.

I prepare. But I don't do it by storing food and water. Rather I develop skills and knowledge that will be valuable to other people trying to survive. This seems a much more logical way to prep than buying a load of manky food that will likely just rot.

I consider us "skill preppers". We do a lot of wilderness camping. You learn skills and how to find what you need.

I have an entire bugout location and have had for years . Not because of any time the world was supposed to end though. It is because I had foresight enough to see what is coming .
1) a small place to live in the middle of nowhere USA on 3 acres of tested good farming land
2) solar panels and generators for power
3) running water across the property tested for potability
4) Watermill to pump water to the home and for irrigation (can use for back-up power as well.)
5) Throwaway phones with phone cards for communication
6) stocked with enough food to get a good start with
7) Weapons , ammo to do for a while
8) in between a dairy farm and horse ranch.fresh milk and transportation
i.e almost completely off grid and good to go
Forgot to add , RN - 30 year veteran of emergency rooms

Is a tornado predicted to destroy OK in September on a specific day?

If you get my point, I been around to see the end of days internet fetish… hasn't happened yet. I don't buy popcorn anymore when somebody starts spiraling that bs, one_more_time.

For that date no, but anyone that doesn't prep at least a bit is a fool in my opinion.

You can't plan for a natural disaster, you can't plan for terrorist attacks, but you can prepare to shift odds in your favor.
