Could we not sod it and build a new city somewhere? give the refugees the jobs to do so let them make there own economy with assistance from all governments?.
I don't know where but there is a lot of land in Europe and I'm sure they would benifit as would the EU in the long run.
I dunno just throwing ideas around.

If I was in a war zone I would want to leave just as many from Syria has, we helped make the mess and are not doing enough to sort it out, so we should help those in need.

We are human beings and should be free to go where we like on the planet earth tbh If it was up to me I would break down all boarders.
People are not waste people are and should be seen as a commodity for society and how we treat people in need should be the reflection on how well morally that society is.
Sweden I salute you and while not rich I will give what I can to help these people.
No borders lol you have been listening to john lennon to much...
30000 people protesting in sweden. I wonder how many of those are immigrants.
And a vast majority of boats are rescued. Very few starfish are actually stranded. Jeeze

Empathy is a virtue that the decision makers seem to lack.
Your doctor may be right. Have a pamper night tonight. Have that cream cake but dont stop caring.

I see three people with beards and a woman going home from shopping. A child and 30 to 50 people in the background. Any chance of a link to a photo with all the 30000 people together?

Here i will oblige for youwww.rt.com... and i quote“It is the thirtieth explosive attack since the New Year. We have a situation that is serious,”

I honestly do not know why people like you want more of this kind of thing.
Why dont the media tell the masses the truth?

Another quote "Police said they believe this week’s explosions are linked with the court sentencing of three young men on July 10 for their roles in the Christmas Eve bombing in Rosengard – the city district which has been dubbed by media as Sweden’s “most notorious refugee ghetto.” The Financial Times reported that nine out of 10 in Rosengard have a foreign background.

Following the spike in violence in the neighborhood in June, police announced that they would step up their presence in known trouble-hit areas such as Rosengard and Seved.

Rosengard, a district in Malmo, was built in the 1960s and has long been associated with immigrants. Over 80 percent of residents there are immigrants, hailing from the Middle East, Africa and Eastern Europe. Only 38 percent of residents in the district are employed, according to the Economist, prompting restive youth to take to rioting and crime.

This situation has been engineered by European governments, constantly influenced, as they are, by big business. It's a capitalist wet dream.

Not that they need much persuasion because of (largely German) guilt about the Nazis. If they can't persuade their electorates, by reasoned argument, to commit ethnocultural suicide...nothing like a bit of tugging on heart strings.

It's both irritating and strangely amusing to watch heads of state shrug their shoulders and go, "I don't know what's happening, I don't know what's happening...still, we'd better let them all come in, eh?"

The UK apparently needs to "do more". Net migration for last year was over 300,000.

This is why their rate of rape against swedish women is skyrocketing most likely. Foreighners unwilling to integrate into their culture bring the whole country down.

Cant save them all so dont try. save what you can when you can though. The parents of that child are responsible for its death not you so dont feel sorry liek you are.

Im actually disgusted by most of the comments, when over privileged monkeys live in their own invisible cages, somehow they start to believe they own the zoo.

It's an inspirational ideal, and I share it. I do wish humanity could unite as brothers and sisters in this way, without any ramifications. In my heart and deeds, I try to adhere to that. Alas, the world as its unnecessary seeming yet omnipresent complexities - tragically - don't allow it. It breaks my heart at times.

I applaud and agree with the ideal though, as I said. Those opposing fear for fear's sake and embracing their fellow humans in need I agree with. I just... also know things don't always work out the way idealism intends/hopes. Both sides have a point. (Though if I have to choose, I choose humanism personally. Save as many starfish as you can, even if there is risk.)

I know not everyone agrees, and I respect that.

Peace.

Net migration is a completely different conversation that accepting refugees. When we are accepting less than Malta or Switzerland I think it is fair to say we should do more.

My that was full of SPECI ISM. Are you a speci ist? Were all humans not monekys but were not all responsible for our other fellows for everything. Its up to them to fight for change in their own lands instead of kicking the can down the road hoping everyone else will die for them so that they can go back after and spit on the people who fought for them and shoot them in the back.

I feel sorry for th ekids caught in this but their parents are cowardly to flee and wait for someone else to do their dirty work.

No, human/humanity is an ideal which you are taught, not something you are. You glorify war as something between a coward and a hero, its not. Only an american can reach the same conclusion you have.
